We have booked the 50's PT Cafe for our March trip but thinking that my DS' might be too young (6 1/2 and 2 3/4 at time of travel) to get the gags, the funny parts and the whole theme of the venue

Any thoughts?

thanks

Funny, first when I read this I thought you meant would the food make them gag, LOL!

Your 2 3/4 year old may or may not get the silly jokes they do there, but I am sure the 6 1/2 year old will. And if they clean their plates the waitress will hold them up for everyone to cheer for them (they call it the clean plate award), and both will enjoy that. If you like interactive stuff I say go for it, the restaurant is a lot of fun. You littler one might not "get" all the jokes, but the food is fine and the rest of you will have a ball IMHO.

My 3 year old did understand many of the jokes and gags they were doing when we took her in 99 yes she did mis some of it as it was over her head but she still had a great time and will still comment on the meal we had there and the funny things our waitress did to my dad.

I am thinking this one is gonna be on my list for our next trip.

I haven't been making any ADR's or whatever they are called right now, but I need to start considering it I think. Just doing a low planned trip since the baby will be along and while she is quite a good outing partner, you just never know.

Can some of you that have been tell me a bit more about it?

The place was a great deal of fun we took our son when he was only 8 months old he just slept through it all. The food was very good and the wait staff did a great job playing up the experiance for everyone involved. They tell you to finish everything on teh plate and get your elbows off the table etc it was a blast. They definateley put on a great show for you and your party at the place.

The menu is meat and potatoes... mostly heavy homecooked stuff like pot roast, meat loaf, etc (full menu here...http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_ptc.htm)

The waiters and waitress's are your cousins or uncles, and Mama is cooking in the kitchen.... The decor is 50's leave it to beaver style... set up like your in someone's kitchen... Jello molds abound... There are also B&W T'V's in each section that run the old shows....

There is lots of pokin fun at folks, making sure manners are used, and that everyone has washed their hands...

Food is decent, and depending on your waiter the 'show' is good too.

It is on our list every trip....

We love Prime Time! The last couple of times my 4 yr old, now 5 did get some of the jokes. Our youngest 2, now 3, of course didnt.
But they will love the food and the light up ice cubes. We always ask for Topher. He is so much fun and a a great server.
