Gang---Thinking of "allowing" my Mom to watch the kids one night during our upcoming trip to allow DW and I to have a night out sans kids... Since I expect to indulge a bit, I'm thinking we'll either stay on the BW or at most wander over to the World Showcase... We keep saying that we have to go to Jellyrolls sometime, what time does it get lively and are there any pointers for where to sit, etc?

I've been to Jellyroll's twice, and really enjoyed both times. Since I knew more songs the first time it was a tad more fun, but that's just luck of the draw. People in the audience make the requests (you put them on the piano on a piece of paper accompanied by a dollar--or $10 if you REALLY want to hear your request), so what you hear is greatly affected by who is there.
The crowd ebbs and flows, as the early birds leave the later folks are just getting there. I never went on a weekend, or during a major holiday week. But midweek during May and October it was relatively quiet at 9 and things were in full swing by about 10-10:30.
If you want the piano players to interact with you sit right up front. And don't hesitiate to join in on the fun when the guys ask for volunteers. Matysgranma and I did a mean kickline to NY NY in October! :goodvibes

If you have been meaning to check it out B&G go for it! :)
I joined Mar, Colorado Belle, Matysgranma, deep-thots and her DH for a few hours last Oct. I had been sooo curious about Jellys and I am so glad I went.. We sat right in front. We were a bigger group so we pulled some tables together.
I know there is a cover charge but I cant remember what it was (???)
The dueling pianists were GREAT! And VERY funny!
There was waitress service with obviously a full bar- I had a HUGE Blue Hawiian that was delic!
Just a heads up though if your non-smokers- Jellys does allow smoking inside the club.
You never know until you check it out! :rockband:

I love Jelly's! I have been there 3 times! That's where I wanted to go for my birthday last year, we had a blast. Recently, I was there 10/28, it was the last night of our trip and I knew Scott would love it! Poor thing had lost his voice, so he wasn't really singing along, more like lip synching along. It was fun! It was a Saturday night, so we knew to get there early. We had been @ Epcot and strolled over about 8:30, we had seats right up front, didn't get super busy until about 9:30 or 10.
Oh, and the cover charge is $8, but well worth it, IMHO.:sing:

I never got a chance! When dh & I went on our honeymoon, I couldn't get in there because I was not quite 21 yet... I wasn't even going to order a drink! It was supposed to be a highlight of our honeymoon, as I love piano! (Old enough to tie the knot, lifelong commitment... but sit and listen to two pianists for an hour or two... simply out of the question for a 20 year old!)
Anyhoo, next trip, I was pregnant and easily tired... didn't get to go... and all other trips with kids... never had a night just dh and me! Maybe in the near future... or at least on our 10th Anniversary trip.

We love Jellyrollls. We try to take advantage of it any time we go to WDW with a babysitter. It starts to fill up around 10:00 pm. It really is a blast. We have preferred it to DTD for sometime now as we like to stay at BCV and walk over and stumble home.

We love Jellyrolls too and went many times pre-kids. We had little interest in the nightlife at DTD and Jellyrolls is especially great if you're staying at an Epcot resort. Hoping to go back in December of '09 when we will have grandparents with us and can leave the TikiTwins with them! :cheers2:

Ok...this is totally off the wall perhaps...but weren't they planning to mothball Jellyrolls? I swear I heard that somewhere, far apart from DTD. Anyone have any info?

We try to go once per trip. Since DH & I aren't big "joiners" we usually sit at one of the bar-height tables towards the back of the room and just enjoy the show. Wait staff is very friendly and we always have a great time.

Hi - My DH and I love Jellyrolls. We used to love the guy that did the Cher impersonation. He was awesome. I don't think he's still there though. We haven't been for a while. We are going by ourselves (no kids) next May so we'll be sure to hit Jellyrolls. We both love to sing. The artists are really talented to remember all of those songs without sheet music. We've been pulled up on stage a couple of times too. My husband is such a hoot. The few times we've been up there I couldn't even sing because I was doubled-over laughing at him. Actually, he gets pulled into quite a few skits and shows at WDW. I think it was twice in EPCOT at least. He was part of a mime skit and a Scirino (sp?) skit in France. They see him coming a mile away. It is so nice to have a DH that makes you laugh.
