Allears is reporing that Buzz will be down for rehab January 4 to Feburary 8 2006.

I know this will upset some, but it REALLY needs it.

THat is good news. I hope they fix ALL the guns. Nothing like getting a bad gun.

We will ride it 999999 times in December, and 999999 times in March and report back the improvements! LOL

The guns, paint peeling, cars that don't work at all. IMHO, Buzz is about 2 years behind in getting this rehab.

Hearing that it's about 5 weeks long is great news. That should give them enough time to do an extremely thorough job. Probably too much to hope that they will be installing the removable guns from the other "Buzz" variations. But we can dream, right? :)

They definately have to have Buzz back up by March!!! I can't imagine going and not getting my fix. :beaniepro

I do wish the guns weren't fixed like the version in DL. Oh, and maybe they can make it so you can email your pics like at DL too! That would be a nice addition!

I agreee that Buzz needs a good refurb. However, I would say Splash is in dire need of a refurb. I know people won't like to see it closed but, that ride needs a good, long, thorough refurb.

There's still plenty of other ways to have a buzz...

That was bad, LC. I'm just going to assume you mean my runner's high after the marathon. ;) And, please don't make them shut down Splash before we go. That's our all-time favorite!

Now all I have to do is remember to have us play Buzz BEFORE the 4th!!

Nah, I was thinknig of drinking around the world showcase. LOL

OK. No closed Splash before your trip but, they REALLY need to do something about that ride. It's in really sad shape. =(

MK website did not list Buzz as closed in January. Are they typically behind Allears? They do Have Splash mountain closed Jan 23 to 27, though.

That's the problem, though, with any of the futuristic rides, and any of the rides in the toon areas - they start looking run down faster!!!! You can get away with run down more in Frontierland and Adventureland!!!!!
I'm glad they're fixing it up - but do feel bad for all of you that are going to miss it! It's quite addictive!

Buzz broke down on us at MVMCP on Sunday night :help:

IN August we were repeatedly trapped in Buzz as the cars came to a halt though the guns, lights, scoring etc still worked. Kids racked up some serious points on a few of those shutdowns!

Only really bad shut down was when our car was in the 'vortex' All that black swirling space, wind and red laser beams got old real fast.

Periodic stops are to be expected due to the nature of the ride system. Whenever a guest needs assistance entering or exiting a car, they have to stop the entire system. The same is true for the Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth.

But I wouldn't be shocked to hear that some of the situations described here are legitimate break-downs. It needs a rehab!!!

I hate to miss it. I will be there with a friend doing a birthday trip (we both have Jan birthdays) but Im sure we will still have plenty of fun.
I wish the guns were mobile too. Thats one thing we love about MIB at Universal, its so much easier to shoot your target.

WDWMagic.com is reporting that "Buzz" returned from rehab a few days early. Sadly, the only changes appear to be new paint in the queue and on some of the targets. No significant work was completed on the ride cars themselves. :crymeariv

Bummer...I was hoping they had upgraded the cars so that the lazer guns can be more mobile, like the ride at DL. Oh well....we missed it greatly last weekend. Can't wait to get back on it in August!

I can confirm this. We were at MK this morning and I was surprised to see that Buzz was reopened early from rehab. Seemed like it was mostly a general paint job as I saw several cars that were "unusable". On both of my trips, my cars looked like they could still use a paint job.

hate to pass disappointing news, but this week riding Buzz, we experienced several rides with less than average performing guns. All DH and I could gasp, "it was just rehabbed!!!" Hopefully they get it back up to speed soon. It is such a great ride!!

I was hoping for the cordless guns, too, like DL, but I would think it would take more than 5 weeks to replace those spaceship thinggies and get them up and running again.
