Any MouseOwners considering going on the Oct 07 cruise? We had been kicking around the idea of going on a cruise, and now I am thinking that it would be fun to be on the DVC one. Since hubby has neither been on the Disney cruise, let alone the DVC member one, there wouldn't be any expectations. I like the fact that it doesn't stop in a port. We have done the Bahamas, so that doesn't hold any interest for me, 2 days at CC, however, that holds a lot of interest for me.
We may just have to try and get into the lottery on Dec 2 and see what happens.

I am seriously considering it. But I need to know the cash price for it and it isn't listed yet. With only a month or less to go this is kind of silly.

I would love to go and put my name in for the lottery.
Problem is - I would be travelling alone and for this last cruise, the single supplement prices were kinda high.
I would love to find a roomie!!!!

I am mostly a lurker here, but I do plan on trying to get on, calling in on the 9th from mousefest.
Btw it is great to see/meet new cruisers!
To take that cruise I was thinking about the lottery too.
Not the one your name goes into, but the one that spits out those white ping pong balls.

I put my name in, too. Glad I went back and re-read it. I first thought you didn't sign up for the lottery until Dec 2. Glad I reviewed the info.

OK so if there are multiple cruisers here - we can book two cabins. Maybe we should be keeping up with each other to see who gets and doesn't get the lottery. I know at least one person who has made arrangements with a first timer to get their second cabin if they are chosen.
Anyone else planning on going??

DW and I have only been on one cruise, and never on a Disney cruise. I entered the lottery, and if we get picked, we'll have to talk it over, but I'm guessing we would likely go. We already said our next cruise would be a Disney cruise, but we weren't planning to go for another year or so.
Well, sometimes you have to roll with the punches (or Disney lotteries).

We just signed up for the Lottery. An interesting side note that I did not know about. As of January 8th of 2007, anyone leaving the USA will need a passport to return. This rule includes Cruise ships and even day trips to Canada and Mexico.
And it usually takes 6-12 weeks to get a passport.

For day trips into Mexico (which my family takes regularly), the rule has been extended by at least a year. I got that info from DS, who works for the Economic Development Commission in Laredo, so they have to keep up on that stuff. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known since I didn't see it in the news.

That is true about needing the passport for the cruise ship! I got mine last summer and it took 7 weeks from the time I ordered it.
They told me what day it would be ready, and I tracked it on the website. That is the day it was ready, but then it took a week in the mail to get to me. So always add a week onto the time they give you.
I think they must put it in a queue and only process so much per day.

I wonder if Canada is the same rule as Mexico, we go over into Canada almost every time we travel up to see my mother in Michigan. But, in any case it looks like I'll have to get a passport.

I signed up for the lottery but we have figured out we won't be able to go. Bet $100 they will call me.
With the house remodel we just can't fork over a 4G minimum for our family to go. Especially since we will be leaving the world on the 1st - the day before they might call.
If I didn't have to pay in full right then and there, sure no problem, but having to pay in full that day is doing it in for us.
Oh well, maybe next time :tearsaref

Payment in full when you book your ressie????????? Well, seems like I overlooked that small fact, too. Guess I better go back and read the small print. Since I was going to possibly rent out the extra points I have this year to pay for it, I guess I will be forgetting this cruise, too. I don't want to rent them out if we don't get the cruise, but need to rent them out if we do, so there ya go, or should I say, there we don't go........

At least that is how it was last year I believe.
But if I could fricking log onto the DVC member site to make sure then I would know. (Read member site problems on Questions about DVC board).
It's making me crazy!!

I just went to the site and read where it said to have your credit card ready at the time of booking "to pay in full." So, I am going to give up this idea real fast. :sosad: :tearsaref :crymeariv

I know it is a bummer isn't it??
I will be saving throughout the next year so I can join the Member cruise for '08. If they have one that is.
