I'm looking at HH for spring break 2007. That year the school's break will hit at Easter. Instead of WDW I'm thinking about HH for a few nights. I saw HH the first week of April isn't considered peak season there.

Anyone know why? Should I be able to get ressies for that week 7 months out?

AND...
How many nights would you want to stay there? I was thinking just 3. If it isn't warm enough to swim I'm worried DH and the girls will get bored easy. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I just made reservations for the first week in April 06 at the end of October, so just over 5 months out with no problem. I am staying 3 nights too. Tues checkin with Fri checkout.

Hi Shan,

Now much helpful info here, but I would say that I wouldn't plan on any ocean swimming in April - even if the weather is warm, the ocean will not be. But it could well be warm enough to swim in the pool and play on the beach - depends a lot on where you're from, and therefore what you consider "swimming weather".

Did this once and loved it.

This is our home resort and we go every year. March 05 was our first non-summer trip. We went for five nights. First day (Easter Sunday) was a total wash out, absolute deluge, though mid 60's. The rest of the week was plenty warm enough (mid 70's) for the heated pools and hanging out at the beach. Ocean temps a bit too cool, though DS and I did jump in once or twice.

Mgt said it was sold-out, though it sure didn't seem that way. I think you'll get your 7-month if you want it.

If you've never been I'd suggest going to see what its all about. As a seasoned traveler, you'll be able to look past any bad weather and get a feel for what a special place this is. There is plenty to do for you and the kids and the CMs are some of the best Disney has to offer.

They offer an Easter dinner delivered to your room as well. Just need to heat a few things up when you get it.

Happy to help, let me know if you need more info.

Well we are going to cancel our spring break at HHI. I did a budget for the trip and it will cost us a little more than we want to spend right now.

We will go somewhere closer to home.

Thanks TW1. HH is the only DVC resort I've yet to stay at, so I am interested to check it out.

We live in the Atlanta area so this would really be an easy trip for us. What do you think about just a few nights? I'm worried DH and the girls will get bored there if the weather doesn't cooperate.

A few nights should be fine.

Bored? Doubt it. As I mentioned this is our home resort. We bought here about 5 years ago after visiting all the others. We simply love this place as our primary summer vacation spot.

So, since we enjoy our summers so much, this year we thought, lets try spring break, end of March. Well it worked out just fine. Sure HHI is a great beach destination, but there are lots more things to do.

If the weather is ok, but not quite beach weather, you can still go out on a boat in Broad creek. The resort arranged dolphin tours and trips to Daufuskie island to go beach combing. You can also go kayaking in Broad Creek, something our DS(8) and DD(11) love to do. The CMs offer two nature walks, one in the marsh and one at the beach. These are a must! You will learn a lot about the island and its important ecosystem.

They will do campfires at night, take the kids to the movies to give parents free time, offer a special dinner like the Low Country Shrimp Boil, have plenty of arts and crafts programs, scavenger hunts, magic shows, ghost stories (a must!), Goofy bingo, alligator adventure program, and more. Its also a rgeat place to ride bikes so either bring your own or rent them there and explore the island. Wednesday is member day and somethings are discounted then.

We might not go this year and our kids are REALLY bummed.

Go for it!

HH is our home resort and we were able to secure a studio for the week of Easter at 6.5 months out....I was surprised b/c there are only about 21-22 studios.
