Welcome to Mouseowners Debi, so glad you found us! Do you already have your ressies for New Year's? Where are you staying? What sort of tips are you looking for, anything specific? If you are looking for things to do for New Year's or Christmas week I suggest you look here:
http://allearsnet.com/tp/holiday.htm (http://allearsnet.com/tp/holiday.htm)

and here:
http://allearsnet.com/tp/nyeve.htm (http://allearsnet.com/tp/nyeve.htm)

If you have more questions I suggest you post them on the trip planning board, as folks might not think to look here for those sort of questions and I think you'll get more replies there.

Again, welcome aboard!!

Mar,
I will be staying at the Yacht Club Dec 14- 18th. I want to come back for Dec 30-Jan 2 if I can find a place to stay.
I would like the BWV if I can buy some points for that time.
Don't have reservations yet
I wonder if the deluxe resorts will get any less expensive than current $435 a night?

Debi,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you are lucky enough to find someone with an existing reservationi for the dates you are looking for at BWV I am afraid you are more than likely not going to find anything available there from a DVC member at this late date for New Year's.

Have you tried posting your request on our rent/trade board? It can't hurt to give it a try. As far as the deluxes going down in price--again, very doubtful. There are discounts available for the general public up until 12/23, I haven't seen any deals for Chrismas week of New Year's at any resort at WDW.

Good luck!! :goodvibes

Welcome! I hope you get the reservations you are looking for!

~~~~~Edited to add: I just went on disneyworld.com and for December 30 - January 2, you could get a BWV studio $1603.14 plus tax. So if you do not find this reservation through a DVCr, I'd get it through CRO. AND, I'd probably book it through CRO now just in case and if you need to cancel before your penalty period.
HTH!
I guess I am just spoiled because we stayed at Boardwalk the last two years for about $235 a night from Dec 21- 27th. Cant find anything nder $435 this year.
and... the last two years we didn't book our trip until Nov.
Oh well I did get a Florida resident rate of $245 a night for the Yacht Club Dec 14-18th.
Guess I'll have to make some decisions about New Years whether we can afford to stay on property or if it is worth to look at some off properties.
Having never been to WDW over New Years I wonder if there are things to do different than in December 14-18?
Thanks for the advice,
Debi
PS: Sorry I haven't gotten the abbreviations down yet! :)
Welcome. Actually when I talked to MS this morning there is very limited availablity going out to March 2007. So I would grab a regular reservation very soon.
