I need to make some ADR soon and was wondering if anyone could share some tips on a Rose and Crown dinner reservation to best set up for Illuminations time and location.
Getting so excited.....:hyper:

Hi,
I love R&C. Getting a table outside is hit & miss. you cannot reserve an outside table. Unfortunately! I'd try for 8 p.m. and when you get there try to get a table by the windows. Hope this helps.

7:30 would be a better time for your reservation. Make sure you arrive about 10-15 minutes before that and request an outside table so you can watch Illuminations.
I've been told that even if you don't get an outside table, guests at R&C are allowed to still view Illuminations from the patio. You just won't be sitting at your table during the show.

Hi, I used to work at the R&C and it is a great place to see Illumnations. I would def make an ADR for 7.30 ish - you may have to wait for a table anyway. If you party is large you are less likely to get a table outside at that time. Some people make reservtions for 6.45 then take like an hour to order so they can keep their table. Don't forget to mention if its a special occassion when you check in at the Podium. I m going myself in about a month, and when I called they were fully booked for most nights of my vacation, so book early!!
Even if you can't get an outside table, you can as your server if you can go to the 'VIP' viewing area - ask to go at around 8.40 so you are at the front. I hope that helps!!

Just returned 2 weeks ago from 10 days at WDW and loved the R&C. When it came time for Illuminations our wonderful Cast Member (wait-person?) came to our (inside) table and asked us if we wanted to go outside to view Illuminations from the patio VIP section. Of course we said yes, left our partially eaten dinner (he said he would 'cover' our plates for us) and followed him and other guests from the restaurant to the viewing area. Illuminations was wonerful and standing was not a hardship.
It was my birthday celebration, I asked for outside seating, but was not given a patio table. I loved sitting inside and our wait-person was from England, complete with lovely accent and he treated us like royalty : - ).
When we returned to our table our plates really were covered and we continued eating dinner & dessert then 'ROLLED' out of the R&C to our resort and a lovely nights sleep.
From our experinece, I think the R&C is a great place to plan to see Illuminations whethere you sit inside or out. Hope you enjoy your meal and the show, we sure did!!

We love Rose & Crown but have never seen Illuminations from there. I think we might have to try it during our next trip.

We chose R & C for last year's Candlelight Processional dinner. Due to a variety of glitches (which Disney CMs turned into magic) we ended up just eating dinner there. We were going to check in a little before 7:30 and were advised by the podium to be sure to wait until 7:30 (Illuminations was at 9:30 over the holidays). We explored England a bit and then were given an indoor table. Our wonderful wait staff was Emma. DS then 16 was enraptured and she was even related to Ringo (Uncle Richard as she called him!) When it was time for Illuminations she told us to move up to an empty table for a better view. Utterly fantastic! I hope we'll see the holiday edition again -- Peace on Earth just moved me to tears.

Our 7:30 reservation worked well for us last month. We checked in at 7:15 and asked for and got an outside table.
They'll tell you that they can't guarantee an outside table, and we got the speech about how we can go outside to watch Illuminations. But I think a smile and pleasant attitude goes a long way.
There's a sign now that says table seating will be restricted to 2 hours. That's probably for the folks who make a 6:45 ADR and expect to hold their seats for Illuminations.

If you love Illuminations (and I LOVE Illuminations) you have to experience it at least once from there...
If you're a party of two you might be very lucky (as I have been). A lot of those 2 person seats are at the far end next to the water. We had a great view.
I will be adding a reservation there for my next WDW trip
