Doug and I are looking to try some different places to eat. I think most of us get stuck in a rut and keep going to the same places over and over again.

He's been looking over the menus on All Ears Net, and thought Biergarten would be interesting (plus the fact that he's German and likes his sausage and his beer). It sounds like an interesting restaurant, with some sort of entertainment during lunch and dinner. I just made the reservation for our December trip.

If you've eaten there, let me know your impressions.

My DH is also German, spent 9 months living in Germany, and really liked Biergarten. One thing he liked was the rare opportunity to use his German. However, he did like the food, thought it was pretty authentic. I thought it was just OK. What I notice most is the desserts, and I noted that the cake (what's that one with cherries and chocolate cake?) was still frozen in the middle. Not a good sign to me-a resturaunt's appeal to me is 99% based on how good their desserts are. Lots of desserts emptied and not refilled very quickly.

We used to love the Biergarten and had to go every trip. I'm part German too and love German foods. Even my picky eating DS used to fill up here. :idontgeti

The last time we went was about 2 years ago and we decided to take a break since it wasn't as great as it used to be. The food seemed bland and more americanized than it used to be. I'm really hoping they improved it again since our last visit.

If you haven't been there yet, I would try it! You might really enjoy it. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't what we were used to before. The show is cute though a bit short. And you can always get those big bier steins!

We went several years ago and enjoyed the entertainment. You get to meet new people, so to speak, as you share the table; kind of like when you go to Kobe (Japanese steak house around here).

I work with a German woman at the shop and her hubby LOVES going there. They usually go once a month. And they are from Germany.

Sorry Rita but I was not crazy about it- This German girl was really looking forward to trying it out- The restaurant itself was kinda cool but I did not enjoy the food- I will NEVER mistake Herring Salad for Potato Salad again! :yuck: JMHO The entertainment was fun though and I enjoyed having a  :)

We like it. We don't eat there every trip, simply because we have an awesome German restaurant locally. We usually eat there once a year. I think you will enjoy eating there. You do sit at long tables with strangers, if that bothers you. We've met some nice people that way. Last trip we sat with some CM, it was a fun evening.

Just got back and ate at the Biergartn for the first time. We asked to be seated at a table with only adults, which they honored. Food was good, entertainment was fun, bro-in-law is german and enjoyed it. If you haven't been there, give it a try.

Oh My Gosh! The shock-the look on your face must have been priceless! I've never had herring salad, but I have a feeling I can consider myself lucky.

I will be eating there Fri 10/27!:woohoo:
I have gone twice before and enjoyed it both times. Love the food, and the entertainment, and the 32 ounce beers are always good:hahahaha: Had to get mine in a to go cup last time, so big I didn't finish it with dinner!
It's also fun if you get good tablemates.
Try it , Rita, I think you'll like it:dancingba

We normally eat there once a trip. DH is german and loves it. He can sing all the songs. Plus it gives us a chance to dance a song or two!!!!

OK, I am sooo not a kraut and sausage fan but I really enjoyed Biergarten. I think the food was great.

I like how it feels like you are outdoors in a little town. There were plenty of yummy things to choose from and the kids liked it too.

I would do it again for sure.

One of our favorite places for a meal and we've met some wonderful people at our tables.

I think the entertainment and beer would be fun.
I agree that we all get into habits of eating at the same places.
And while that is fun, it's also fun to try something new.

My new place last trip was Jiko, and that is now a favorite.
Next trip: Bistro

It's just hard fitting everything in: so much food, so big a waistline.

The Biergarten is probably our favorite restaurant at WS. Whenever we're looking for a place to eat, we tend to settle on Biergarten as the one place everyone in our family likes. We finally decided that if we want to eat at all of the other WS restaurants, we need to resist the Biergarten habit.

The atmosphere is lively, the food is good. The desserts are outstanding.

The entertainment is good, the beer is great, black forest cake delicious! The food is a bland, amercanized version of German Food but it's ok & the beer :ale: really helps!

Years ago, pre-buffet it was more authentic & really good German food.:(
