Hope this is the right place to post this.
I am planning on making carriage ride reservations for our trip in Nov/Dec.
One of the places you can leave from is Fort Wilderness.
Is this the resort with the must see Christmas Tree?
If not, where is it?
What good restaurants are at FW?
Any suggestions, guidance and answer will be much appreciated.

Fort Wilderness is the camp ground. I think it's ok to post a link to another site. http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_fw.htm
The above has a FAQ about FW. I recall a large Christmas tree, outside, near Pioneer Hall. While it was nice and I enjoyed looking at it, I wouldn't call it a must see. HTH

Then maybe I am thinking of AKL??? Or Wilderness Lodge?
Yes, if I remember correctly the carriage ride picks you up at the entrance to Wilderness Lodge, not Fort Wilderness.
Wilderness Lodge does have a beautiful Christmas Tree, and a great restaurant, Whispering Canyon....but, don't let the name fool you. It is certainly a "lively" place with very little whispering!!
However, there is another "fine dining" restaurant at WL....Artist's Point. It specializes in steak and wine. It is a very romantic, candlelit place.
Oh man....now you have me wanting to stay there!!!

Kathy, here's the AKL Christmas Tree - it's certainly worth a visit - but carriage rides are fun, too! I think Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans, and Saratoga Springs also have carriage rides.

OMG that tree is beautiful.
What we have decided to do is try and book a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness.
Prior that head over and eat at Boma. While there, check out their tree.
Hit Fort Wilderness for the carriage ride and check out the decorations over there.
We have never seen the decorations at either place.
Does anyone know if the EWP goes past Fort Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge?
We wanted to see that last trip and ran out of time.
Thought if it hit that area, we would just make a night out of it.
Thanks for everyone's responses.

I don't believe so since EWP is on the Seven Sees Lagoon and WL is on Bay Lake.

Actually, the Electic Water Pagent does make a large loop around Bay Lake for the benefit of guests staying at CR, WL, FW. If it's on schedule it should past FW at approximately 9:45 PM everynight (weather permitting). The total barge(s) loop and schedule is usually:
Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m.
I love the EWP and have actually gone out with the cast. The EWP premiered just 26 days after WDW openned and has been in service ever since! I hope you get to enjoy it!

OK, I booked today, tell me if we are stupid to think we can pull this off.
We will be driving.
I made reservation for 5:20 at Boma's.
The reserveration for the carriage ride is for 7:30 at Fort Wilderness.
DH says to call back and make the carriage ride later.
I say we will have more than enough time.
OK experts, what do you think?

I would definitely check in for Boma early. They've never seated with less than a 20 minute delay, but our ADRs are usually for 7 pm. By thta titme, they've got a crowd built up. Maybe check in 10 minutes early or so?
Dinner usually takes about an hour or so without being rushed since it's buffet, so you should have plenty of time if you're driving.
It sounds like a lovely evening - we always overeat at Boma, so having an earlier dinner with some activity afterwards should help things settle quite nicely!!

depends - where did they say you had to get on the carriage rides.
if at the kennel, riding stables or depost (outpost) area - you are fine. You can drive and park to this area.
if at the settlement change it. You must take a bus to the settlement area. Or you could park at the MK and take the boat to FW.
