Hello All!
Has anyone taken advantage of having a family portrait taken at one of the theme parks? There are 19 of us in a Magical Gathering and have to decide where to take this shot. And we can only choose ONE location. The choices are (insert drum roll):
MK-Rose Garden by Cindy's Castle
AK-TOL
MGM-Sunset Blvd
EPCOT-Most of the countries
Any Resort Lobby or grounds
If that wasn't hard enough, try getting 12 adults to decide on the same ONE! The kids' votes don't count but maybe they should be the ones to decide. The Perks give us 10% off the sitting fee of $300+, but the Magical Gatherings package is $165 for the sitting. Costs of photos are same for both.
Can anyone help me out there???:help:
And the gathering begins in 2 weeks:crazy:

Personally, I'd go with 1 or 4

We had our group photo of 15 taken at DL in front of the Castle - I know - standard and some might say boring, but we love the picture and I vote for #1 !

I can't wait to hear back after you do this. I have been thinking about getting our family portraits done. I looked at some of the samples and to be honest I don't like how there can ~possibly~ be strangers in the background of the park photos.
I was thinking about either Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club since we own there. I saw some lovely Wilderness Lodge family photos.
Good luck and please let us know how they turned out!

We did it back in 2002. Had our photos taken in the lobby and back porch at OKW.
Back then if you chose Epcot they indicated that you could pick 2 or 3 different countries, time permitting. They do it before the WS opens, so aside from the Segway people, the photogs pretty much have the run of the place.
If they can still do that sort of setup, I'd pick Epcot.
Given the prices that you quoted, I wonder if they GG package isn't different than the sitting. We paid over $200 for ours, and got the photographer plus assistant for a full hour. They sent us all of the proofs (which I promptly scanned), plus the top 8 or 12 photos were put in a very nice hardbound, embossed album. I know they now provide digital downloads of the photos, too, which they didn't offer back in '02.

Thanks for all of the input. So far, the family wants Tree of Life, the Castle or the Beach Club. The Magical Gathering provides an hour of service plus a proof book, for a lot less than the regular fee. And you view and order from the website, too. The Castle does seem so boring but do you ever really get bored of looking at that???

The castle is currently being repainted. I'm sure they can take the photo without the crane in the background, but I'm not sure how that section of the castle would look - perhaps half painted. That could be a factor. I like the Beach Club idea. To me, the Tree of Life can be just as boring as the Castle unless the photographer really knows what he 's doing and you have some good areas to pose.
