Hubby is thinking he wants to go to Sea World this trip. I have never been and am clueless as to ticket prices and so forth. Where is the best place to to get good prices on SW tickets and so forth. Any help and suggestions appreciated.

I would go straight to Sea World's website first - they have deals and specials all the time. We had a very nice day there! I wish I could be more help - but we used a military special to get in, so I didn't have to shop around. Good luck!

Hey Bavaria, glad you are on-line. I need some knitting help. I made a little hat for a baby shower this Friday, and I am wondering, do you block hats knitted in the round, and if you do, how do you do it?

oooh knitting on the whale thread!!! I just spritz it with water from a plant or ironing spritzer, or just sprinkle water on it. Then I smooth it out flat. Or I put it over a wound ball of yarn, or over a tupperware round container (but take one with a rounded edge to the bottom or you'll get a crease)
Did any of that make sense?

Wait a minute !!!! You're hijacking your own thread ???
Go dig up the old knitting thread. We don't need people interested in SeaWorld wondering in here and getting hurt by flying nittin needles.

Viking, you started on that cool hat yet? I ran across that picture the other day and got a really good chuckle out of it.
Doesn't seem like there is too much whale help here anyway. I am not as enthused about the idea as hubby is. I like to stick with the tried and true.

I tried, but I kept poking myself in the eye & ear with my combo chop/nittin sticks.

Rwe - I would give Sea World a chance. Especially since you are staying near there on this next trip right? They offer a second day free or heavily discounted (at least they did when we were there last).
Checking the Sea World website would be a good place to start so you know if the deals you are looking at are bargains. We bought something called a "fun pass" for $55 each from AAA a couple of years back that was good until the end of that calendar year and I thought it was a great deal.
There is plenty to see at Sea World and if you want to do all the shows, it could easily be done over a couple of days versus one hectic, lots of walking day. It is a beautiful park and I think that the customer service we have experienced there is right on par with WDW. Very clean for sure! Maybe not the over friendly CMs, but honestly, we don't interact with them much. The counter service food is more varied than most of the CS at WDW and we enjoyed it a lot.
I would give it a whirl. If you are a AAA memeber, check there and see what sort of discounts you can get and since you are staying close, make sure to check into the fun pass and/or the dicsounted (possibly free - but I think it might be $10 to return) next day.

you can also get a discount at the gate using your Southwest rapid rewards card (which is free to sign up for). i think it's 20% off :).
we did one day at SeaWorld on our last trip. my kids were 3 and 1 at the time and my older one did not enjoy it that much, and we only went because we thought he'd love it. it's the shows, i think they bore him as he's used to being fairly up close to animals at zoos, aquariums etc.
i quite liked it

We did Sea World a couple summers back. Had a nice day. It is really a lovely and very clean park. Not WDW, but still nice for a change of pace. We bought our tickets on their website. It was a deal, we got the second day free. Turns out it is easily done in a day and we had no need for it. It can't be shared cause they take your picture. The shows were really good, although the night time show was lame. Also, they have free beer and wine coolers in one of the counter service spots. :woohoodan

Yep - FREE!!! (limit 2 per drinking age visitor...gave my son a hat and fake beard but to no avail...but errr...there are two people giving out the samples)
they are small samples and you can get either a few beers or a frozen beverage at times (I tried a smirnoff ice which as great frozen). It is in conjunction with the beer school they have there which is another good reason to go to Sea World - beer school :)
This section is near the Shamoo show (or Shampoo show if you are my children). You can also see the horses in a field or you can walk through the barn area and see them. They also are around the park from time to time pulling the beer wagon of course.
As Shan said, I do think that you are right that it can be a one day park, but if you try to do everything they have to offer, it can be difficult. Some of the best shows there don't seem like the most important ones (like the Clyde and Seamore show and Pets Ahoy) and taking the time to feed all the different animals, etc so having more than one day makes it more relaxing to us. We have never stayed for the nighttime show as we really love the ones at WDW and we typically just scoot back over to Disney for that or we take the night off and go and eat off property before returning.

Well, I guess we are going since we went online and bought tickets last night. We got the Be a Kid deal-adult ticket at childs price-so not too bad, about 1/2 of what a one-day Disney ticket would be.
Speaking of free beer, when I grew up in St. Petersburg, we used to go to Busch Gardens a lot. At that time, they had the penquins, the brewery and great bird shows, and that was it, but at the brewery, it was all the beer you wanted to drink. I was too young for that then, but Dad sure did enjoy it. I understand the place has grown quite a bit since the early 60's.
