View Full Version : why when I 'edit' do I get a 'dupe post'?

when I go back and edit a post, it creates a dupe post.
I haven't been posting much recently but it did it to me a few times this week; I've often edited my posts in past due to spelling and grammar and never had this happen......
Am I too hot on the trigger finger, or is it just my other personality coming over to post?? :veryconfu
hmmm trying to recreate the scenario and of course now it works just dandy!

ok, apparently I am NOT having problems (well at least no tech problems)
My alter ego has gone away and editing is not creating a dupe post here... hmmm

Things are incredibly slow for me here lately. Takes forever for screens to appear and for things to post. Are you perhaps hitting "submit" more than once and it taking more than the 30 second lock out before it shows you what you submitted, therefor causing two posts?
If you hit submit too soon, it is supposed to say "sorry you have already posted that...click here and you will be redirected to your post"...but if you are having a huge lag like I am, then there is a chance you are hitting "submit", it is being processed and before you see it, you hit submit again thinking it didn't take the first time. If that 30 second lock out is past, then you would get two of the same post.

Thanks Laura, the boards actually are speedier for me this week than they were in past.
I'm chalking it up to user error, or the mouse I am using!!!
(blame it on the mouse......)
