are a HUGE waste of time, full of hokey crap and no substance. Just got back from the one at Atlantic Dance Hall at BWV, and I am bitter that that represented 45 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Ugh.

The only informative piece of news they passed on is that "soon," we will be able to bank and borrow points on line. Nothing about ressies, though.

Really, couldn't they just have informed us about that in the mail?

Bleh.

............. full of hokey crap and no substance.
Bleh.

Sounds like most of the shops on Main Street.

Phew! We skipped that when we were there - I felt kinda bad, like we'd missed out. Not no more!

What? No free gifts? No fun trivia games?

No free gifts or free food?

Let's see -- there was lemonade and small bags of cheddar popcorn and cracker jacks.

Yes, they handed out, via drawing, a floral arrangement, a DVC Mug filled with hot cocoa, a DVC license plate, and a DVC unmbrella; and everyone in attendance got a DVC hat.

There was the lamest-*ss trivia game I have ever seen (hosted by the most annoying host I've ever seen), all of the winners ("Everbody's a winner!") of which received small, collapsible DVC chairs (good for parade viewing, I suppose).

I still considered it interminably hokey boredom. It was so bad, in fact, that one of the members of our MO party left in the middle of it. I'm tellin' ya, I'd avoid them at all possible costs, and certainly wouldn't *try* to make room for it in my schedule.

Was the host that annoying woman with the bee-hive hairdo and high squeaky voice?

We used to like them at SSR.

Thanks for the warning and the details about the meetings - I'll be moving the Member Wednesday activity a lot lower on my priority list of things to do, LOL.

I do think someone misspoke if they said that online banking and borrowing was coming soon. The only time you can borrow is if you are actually making a reservation. Hmmmm - don't suppose that they are planning to let us make reservations online sometime soon, too???? If so, that would be a very BIG surprise!

I know, I was puzzled by it as well -- which is why I didn't take it all too seriously. And by that time, I was so demoralized by the sickeningly sweet and peppy "Ariel Cee" (daughter or granddaughter of "DeeVee Cee") that I didn't have it in me to ask for clarification. I wanted to get the h*ll out.

Sooooo agree with deep-thots- My kids and I attended and even my ds who is 7(king of hokey-corney stuff at his age) kept asking me "is it almost over?" more than once-

It was an opportunity to see the inside of Atlantic Dance Hall though and the place was packed- members were even up on the balcony-

We did have a bigger prize winner out of our group- but I will let her tell you- ;)

Once was enough for Welcome Home Wednesdays!.

ITA with Kim--I left after 15 minutes, it was stupid, boring and a total waste of time. The "trivia" questions were ridiculous, ie "How many adventures are available to dvc members"? (answer was "over 250"--now who would actually get that right?) It was like one big sales pitch for DVC--and as all attending were already members it seemed really silly. It was not truly trivia at all, but I will say the experience was totally trivial. And egad was the hostess annoying!

I was the lucky winner of the umbrella, but there is a story behind it which I will save for my trip report.

Yes, it was hokey.

BUT: on the bright side::::
I enjoyed seeing the insides of the Atlantic Dance Hall. It is REALLY nice in there, and I wish they would bring back the Ballroom Dancing that Kathyseb told us about, instead of the DJ stuff they have going on in there now. It's too nice a facility to be wasted.

AND I enjoyed getting my beautiful DVC hat that would retail at over $20 bucks and looks snazzy with jeans and khaki pants.

Certainly better than riding on the Stitch ride!!!

Which reminds me, you never stuck around long enough for your lesson.
