Ok I am looking for info on what kind of special things to do for Lisa she will be celebrating her birthday while we are on our cruise in Dec. I have allready called down and let them know it will be her b day. I am not to sure what they do for somones b day on the ship but I am also looking for suggestions on a nice treat for her to help celebrate her day.

A visit to the spa would be nice.

I'm guessing it's a Disney cruise. How about a nice dinner at Palo's. Or maybe a land excursion that she'd like to do.

I asked her about Palo but she doesn't want that and we have allready booked all teh excursions she wants to do that was why I asked for suggestions I am stumped I have a pedicure booked for her for our second morning as we are heading to Nassau but I was looking for something special. She is not a drinker so wine and other drinks are out HHHHHEEEEEELLLLPPPPP LOL. Oh and yes this is a Disney cruise and our first cruise at that thus the 3 day to get our feet wet and see if the family even likes cruising.

The only other special thing I can think of would be to do to either have a some time in the spa on her own (massage, etc.) or to do something together in the Spa. They will have just refurbed the spa and added some private rooms (including one with a jacuzzi on the balcony if it's like the Magic) after the Wonder's drydock this October. Maybe a joint spa package? There are a few romantic options.

And what's this about not wanting to eat at Palo? It's great!! Perhaps a champagne brunch if she doesn't want to do dinner (and champagne is not required).

Ya she has no desire to eat at Palos she would rather spend the money on other things and she doesn't want to have to bring any dressy clothes she said it is holidays not get dressed up days LOL. As for the spa treatment she doesn't like massages I sent her to the spa for christmas last year and she loved the pedicure but hated the massage and manicure.

My in-laws are coming with us again to WDW & DCL this December, and he is turning 75 right on the cruise. I bought him a new digital camera that he will get before he leaves for our trip - and on the trip itself . . .

What to do - nothing! Call Disney Cruise Line and tell them you have birthday for someone (and what her age is, on what day) and they will take care of the rest. You will get a cake, a bit of decoration and some special "touches" from the CMs.

It sounds like she won't appreciate shore excursions (not worth the risk even if you think she might, as that can backfire) or special dining, so I would suggest getting her a present of some sort, a card - and leave the rest to the DCL CMs.

Does she like character meet & greets? Look at the Personal Navigator on board and see when character meeting times are. You might have a really good photo-op - and a chance to present your wrapped gift with some flourish while she's beaming.

As for a present, perhaps some shipboard credit to the two gift shops - and let her go by herself to buy what she wants.

I wish you luck!

Thanks she is allready getting her BIG gift before we leave I bought her a new Nikon D80 to replace her D70 she will recieve that before we leave when we go out to the Outback (her choice) for her birthday dinner with my family before we go away. The outback is her idea of nice dining LOL I prefer places like the Horse and Hound and Michaels on the Thames etc here in London so as you can see fine dining for her is a moot point.

Well, it sounds like you're going to have a wonderful birthday celebration at many different levels! I'd certainly tell the servers on night 1 about the birtdhay, and maybe arrange for a gift basket to be delivered to your stateroom the first day. If you go to the cruise website, you'll see options.

There is a gift basket service near Port Canaveral that specializes in putting together custom baskets for delivery to the ship on sail date. I'm not sure of her contact information, but others might now. She's gotten rave reviews.

Since the camera is the nice gift, there will be plenty of great photo opportunities every step of the way. You've probably already made this a celebration she'll never forget!

This is what I was going to suggest. Shirley from The Perfect Gift is a sweetheart and does a wonderful job with her baskets! The customized basket will be waiting for you in your stateroom when you arrive.

Some other suggestions I have would be flowers and stateroom decorations. Since it is noted on your reservation, your dining staff will bring a cake out and sing to her on whatever day you prefer.

Personally, if it were me I'd love flowers, a bottle of champagne and a Rainforest Pass at the Spa. :woohoo:

I'm sure that no matter what, celebrating her birthday on a Disney Cruise with those she loves will be very special no matter the gift(s)! :goodvibes

I definately recommend Perfect Gift! Shirley and her staff are the best!!!! I've ordered gift baskets from her for many occassions...birthdays, anniversaries, just because, first cruises etc. Planning on ordering again for next year. Everything is very personalized and it is a pleasure to work with her.

I'm pretty sure she's the only outside company that can deliver to the DCL. It will be waiting for you in your stateroom when you arrive.

Last time, we celebrated DD's first birthday on the cruise. (It was the night before we set sail) She got alot of attention, her own cake, birthday pin.

The "basket" she made last time for our 2 kids is the big frilly ribboned one. She used a Mickey backpack to fill with snacks, games, etc. I've also had more adult baskets that were amazing!

How about ordering the Happy Birthday Stateroom Celebration? You could decorate your room and every time she walks in it will make her smile.
