We just got back from vacation the 9th of October. My dad vacationed with us. I had all his documents sent to my house since I was in charge of the vacation and this way he wouldn't lose them.

Guess what he gets in the mail today at our address?? You guessed it - some DVC literature.

I just found this kind of funny.

That's how they got us last year. I think the strategy is to hit 'em while they're at their peak of WDW withdrawl.

hahaha - You might be amazed how much DVC sales brochures you will get even AFTER you are a member. Obviously, add-ons are a HUGE market for them. We get many offers and referal requests and "general information" check ups from our guide (that I am sure are mailed to everyone) just letting us know that he is around if we need assistance.

I look at this kind of stuff as a way to stay up on what is happening and then toss it. Every time I get add-onitis...I just remember that you CAN have too many points when it comes to maintenance fee time. :)

I think they are pushing it so hard because it supposedly is one of the few consistently profitable segments under the Disney umbrella - I'm sure they feel they can't get too much profit, right?

If it makes you feel better, even us resellers get all the paraphernalia in the mail. Very ironic, lol.

All the best,
Shontell

What really gets me is the stuff they send asking members to "Share the magic with our family and friends" !!! I think they'd have to pay me to do their marketing for them..... my relatives thisnk I'm crazy enough already! I can just see it.... me sitting them all down in front of the TV starting the DVD and talking them all through the sales pitch! They'd have me committed.... :beaniepro

If you live in a state where it's allowed, tehy do pay you. I belive in DIsney dollars. Don't remeber how much.

ETA: It looks like ~$200.

Oh - hey - being committed might be worth it!
And those nice padded walls would be ok for a couple of weeks, give me a good book, some tea, maybe a papasan chair......

How many points would that cost? And can you get a pool view?
