Here's some "new" info from MousePlanet.com. It really isn't anything we haven't heard a dozen times over:
…We're hearing that the next Disney Vacation Club resort may be built away from the Disney theme parks, in the mold of the DVC resorts at Vero Beach and Hilton Head Island. Nobody's giving any hints as to where, though. Also, the next on-property DVC resort is likely to be near a theme park, as the Saratoga Springs Resort is generating a lot of comments that it's too far removed from the action.

I probably should have added a disclaimer that I don't view this rumor as any more reliable than others.
But, taken at face value, there still are a number of options. Nowhere does it stated that the next resort will be an add-on to an existing Disney resort. So, we could be talking about a stand-alone resort constructed down the road from AK. It could be an add-on to AKL.
Heck, maybe it will be the first resort plopped-down next to the 5th theme park. ;) Call me crazy, but I think people would be falling all over themselves to buy at a location right next door to a brand-spankin-new theme park.
But, I digress...
Given the rehab schedule at the CR, they could easily wait another 6-9 months before making an announcement about that North Garden Wing. 'Til then, we'll just have to sit tight. :)

I know that  That is what the little ;) icon meant.
Although I think a brand spanking new one would be cool. But honestly I still think they should finish POP first.

That is what I'm hoping for. I would really love another off-site option.

If there is another offsite let it be Western Canada like Whistler BC or Banff Alberta that would appeal to me and many of our Canadian DVC members.

We talked to the kiosk guy at SSR last weekend. He said they have nothing official on CR, but 'you hear things'. He said they're instructed right now to keep everyone focused on SSR until it sells out (projected for 2007).
Soooo, if everyone will run out and buy lots of SSR points to sell it out sooner, we may get an announcement sooner. :beaniepro
I would love a cool Canadian DVC in Nova Scotia. My dream vacation is Trout Point Lodge...maybe DVC could buy it just for me :Princess:

It takes 2-3 years to build a resort, so we'll certainly know about the resort well in advance. SSR became public knowledge around January 2002, and it took until August 2004 to have the first 180 units open.
I don't know about SSR selling out by 2007, but they could always have two resorts for sale at once. Certainly one wil be more popular than the other, but giving people multiple choices is good. I believe that this is the first time since OKW's initial offering that DVC has only had a single resort to sell.
Seems like DVC will make an announcement in their own good time.

That would actually be good to we have never been further east than Quebec city LOL. I would also like to see one at say Mt St Anne in the PQ (Province of Quebec) not at Tremblent though as our family has a chalet there allready.

Hi all, I'm new to these boards, but have been a DVC member for a few years.
I'm out in California where, this summer, the DVC has finally made itself known and advertised at the Disneyland Resort.
A few friends have become members, some never having ever been to WDW. The rumors they have heard from DVC cast members, and " know it alls" is interesting. They range from, "oh yes we are building here in California soon" , " the planned villas at Disney's Grand Californian didn't have enough room, and would have displaced the alternate wedding area", " ...the strawberry field land is being considered near here", and others' statements too ridiculous to mention. The only area not rumored was the Leagues Lagoon, where construction is currently underway for the new Nemo attraction.
We did go to the DVC visitor site at Disneyland. They share half of the wedding planning building. They have a doll house version of the Saratoga Springs units. The receptionist told us that the parking lot outside the building ( which is behind the Disneyland Hotel) had been surveyed for a full size mock up of the Saratoga Springs units to be constructed soon.
