Anyone looking for some nice Disney park-themed artwork for their home should check out this link:

That's the on-line store for the Disneyland exhibit currently appearing at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn MI.

Scroll down to see the six prints available. As you will see, there are some VERY nice designs. We picked-up three of them when we attended the exhibit, and honestly don't know where we will hang more than one. ;)

They are only $10 each, but for that price don't expect anything fancy. They are basically rolled posters. But, I'm betting they will look pretty darn nice in a decent frame.

The store also has a companion book for the exhibit available. I only thumbed through it briefly, but should know more later this week. I'm attending a conference a The Henry Ford related to the exhibit, and the author is supposed to be on-hand signing copies of the book. I figured I'd try to get a copy then. If anyone wants to know more about the book, let me know and I can post next weekend.

So how was the exhibit?

We enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately our kids weren't as cooperative as they could have been, so DW and I didn't get to soak-up the experience to the degree we would have liked.

On Friday DW and I are attending a public conference related to the event. Guest speakers include Marty Sklar and Tom Fitzgerald from Imagineering. Needless to say I'm pretty pumped-up about that. Hopefully it will meet my expectations. Fitzgerald was supposed to lead attendees on a tour of the exhibit during the afternoon session, but I've since read there could be as many as 1000 people at the event. Hopefully they'll be able to maintain some sense of intimacy while dealing with such a large group.

As for the exhibit, there is a LOT of concept artwork. They also have some models, the Abe Lincoln audioanimatronic, actual ride vehicles from Mr. Toad and Peter Pan's Flight, several filmed pieces and even some interactive kiosks. It was very nicely put together. My one bit criticism was that I didn't think the placards next to many of the pieces of artwork were descriptive enough.

I'll post more this weekend after the Friday event.

DIdn't think it was time for the seminar yet. Can't wait for your report! 1000 people??? Hope there's enough pixie dust to go around!
