HI, I have a 10 year old daughter who would get a kick of of pleasure island. I know a few clubs restrict to over 18 or 21, but what about the other clubs,,would I be able to bring her around with me to go dancing ?
I am curious. Dee:kickingco

The Adventure's Club allows children and they are family friendly the first hour or 2 for really young kids. We took my two, DS-6 and DD-2 in May and they loved it! I think the first show at the Comedy Club is also family friendly. I don't think any of the dance clubs allow children in. (Not totally certain, but I'm sure someone will be able to confirm or not soon :) ) They do have music playing in the streets also.
They are supposedly doing alot of construction in the PI area of DTD. So I'm not really sure which clubs are open still.

The Pleasure Island policy changed January 1st (2007). ALL of the dance clubs are strictly age 21 and older every night, all night. The Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse will allow kids in with a parent, but those are the only 2 - and neither has dancing.

The perfomers may be "family-friendly" the first hour or so, but you cannot count on the patrons to be the same. Somtimes they are & sometimes they are not - you can't really know ahead of time which type of crowd you will encounter.

Maybe we were there on a particularly "off color" early evening, but I saw a mom with her (I'm guessing) 10 y/o daughter, and the mom didn't look too happy about a few of the jokes (one of which was directed at them).

It's at Disney, but it is a nightclub, so you know... the atmosphere will tend toward the adult. :) Personally, I don't like the idea of kids in any of the PI clubs, just because that's not what I have in mind for a night out.

I always wonder what parent's are thinking when I see them with their kids, sometimes very little kids, out at the Adventurer's Club or Comedy Club at midnight - sometimes till closing at 2am.
There should be a places for only adults at night, and PI should be over 18 only after a certain time at night.
IMHO anyway :)

Hi All, I'm new here and just bought in last Monday and am waiting to close lol.
However, let me chime in here. Yea, I tend to agree about kids at comedy or night clubs. They are supposed to be for the adults to get away for a bit in my opinion. But what about a place like the Irish pub at DTD? Is that what everyone would consider a place to bring kids to get a pint or 2 and have a bite to eat?? I am Irish, from Boston, and would like to do that if I can but don't want to be sneered at by others or expose my kids (DD-10, DS-7) to adult language that would be ttrribly bad. I mean they have heard me swear at low moments a few times in the past when I have smashed my hand with a hammer etc. Thanks for your thoughts.

We went to Raglin Road last summer (DW, DD14, DS11, DD6 and ME) and were treated to quite a floor show. Besides the singing, and Irish Dancing and band, all three of my children were fascinated by the couple at the Bar. "Dad what are they doing? Is that first or second base? Where does his tongue go?" Were all questions my SIX YEAR OLD ASKED!!!.
Really it was rather obscene, and believe me (and the sites I have been kicked off from) I'm no prude!
This was early 5:30 or so, there were plenty of other children (many younger) in the Pub, but your kids may feel like they're back in school, Health Class specifically depending on the antics of the patrons.
They were from Boston too (I think, do you know them ;))

-TonyWow! Sorry your kids had to see that - surprised you didn't say something to them.
When we were at Raglan Road, it just seemed like any other restaurant in which alcoholic drinks were served. I wouldn't feel out of place bringing children, especially earlier in the evening.
I think you can see the "get a room" behavior anywhere but I don't think it's common at Raglan Road or at any of the other Disney restaurants. Some people have no sense of propriety at all! Sounds like you were just unlucky.

And thanks to the internet there's eternal proof.
(Note to self: book dinner at Raglin Road / bring camera)

We have eaten at Raglan many times. Actually it's our only must do each trip. I would feel comfortable bringing children in at/around the dinner hour. We do go later, and enjoy the dancing and live music. Then again, we don't have kids, and uh, we are usually the patrons at the bar. (just kidding, we do eat at the bar a lot, but uh, I do have my limits! :slyasafox
Speaking of bad behavior. Reminds me of this time on the boat back from DTD to OKW. Well uh, I do admit it was late, and it was full of us who had been enjoying DTD refreshments, but let me tell ya'....you know how on the boat there are the two seats that face each other, and your knees almost touch facing each other? Well there was this couple, and uh boy. I felt like it was a skinemax special. Mr Roz kept elbowing me, freaking out, wanting me to say something. I just sat there with my jaw open, in complete awe how 2 people can be so oblivious to their surroundings, and such poor poor taste and class. :sosad:

LOL...I gues when in Rome one does as the Romans do. Thanks for the responses, I am definately going to bring the kids there with us next time. They had a blast with us in EPCOT at the English pub and the bartenders played all kinds of silly games with them while me and the Mrs. had a quick pint.

I wasn't trying to imply a poor greenbanneds, subjected to such horrors, when in fact we had a lot of fun with it. Also, I'm not sure a room would have been needed by this couple, perhaps a broom closet, car seat :coolcar:or family restroom would have better met their needs? :hammer:
[Flashback to OP===>]
I just wanted to say that the only inappropriate PDA we ever saw at any Disney Property was at Raglan Road, early in the evening. I agree it was just bad luck, not blaming (:viking:) anyone but the couple! :doublekis
Had it really bothered :burningma me, I would have asked the couple if they realized many :grouphug: children were present, and if not sucessfull, would have requested a manager (while taking the kiddos outside), but to be honest, it really did not bother us at all! :jawdroppi

Unfortunately for my kids, both of their parents are Physicians with Mommy Dearest being an OB/GYN, so they are hard to shock. They love all the real life medical shows on Discover/Science channels. So we used this as a teaching experience. :teacher: "Kids, how does that behavior make you feel? Would Mom and Dad approve of you acting that way when you are older? How many kids to you think they have?"
We even had a contest guessing who's hands would go where next, my 6 year old won :highfive: that but my DS11 was a very close second place. :ROTFL:

if this stuff bothers you - don't - don't go to the Sept Night of Joy.
now I will admit it has been years (93 or 94) that we went.
but kids gone wild - would have been very happy here.
It was so bad that one of the CM say to one of the couples to get a room.

Anyway some people think they are the only ones in the world. WDW does attract alot of honeymooners.
