Anyone else experiencing these problems?
1. Slow response time. For about the last 10 days, page loads seem to take 5-10 seconds. Used to be immediate.
2. Sizing issues with the "Post New Thread" and "Reply to Thread" windows. The third column of "smilies" is always hidden off screen, along with some buttons above. My monitor resolution is at 1024 x 768, which isn't abnormally low.

No Tim, I do not have those problems, not sure why you do.

No problems here (using Safari on a Mac).

I'm not having any issues with the board/forum page. Only the dvcmember.com page. My resolution is 1280x1024 on a 19" monitor. I would say that 1024x768 is the normal resolution for most 17" monitors. Have you tried deleting your temp internet files? Offline files, too? You can get to that via tools, internet options in internet explorer.

Haven't noticed those problems, but within the past few days, I seem to have lost my countdown calendars.
No big deal.
I know we leave in 19 days:ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:
Have yet to pull up my profile and see if I mistakenly clicked on something i should not have.
That is the only "prolbem" I am having.

Mousehouse Magic, the place where you got your tickers from, is undergoing a website rehab, so those tickers don't work now. This is not due to anything on mouseowners, it's a Mousehouse thing. I had the same problem so I deleted my Mousehouse ticker and made one using tickerfactory in the meantime. Hope Mousehouse is up and running again soon, they had some GREAT tickers!!

Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c328/tjkraz/NewPicture.jpg
The problem only occurs when one or more of the extra-wide smileys is displayed. When they are all the smaller smileys, I can usually see all three columns. But as you see here, the third column is being pushed off the display, along with the spell check and other buttons that normally appear above. I don't even have a L-R scroll bar to slide over and see the display--the inside table appears to be too large for the outside, so it's just disappearing.
(EDIT: This is the smiley that appears to be the biggest culprit in widening the display: :jumpingbe )
It's particularly annoying given that there are 2 inches of blank purple real estate to the left of the posting window that isn't being used.
(EDIT: Just visited another vBulletin site which has FOUR columns of smileys in the posting window, and everything fits fine on the screen. )
Don't know what the deal is with the slow pages loads. I have 2-3 dozen sites that I visit daily and this is the only one that is notably slow in loading. It's been happening for about 1-2 weeks now. I guess I'll just wait and see if it works itself out...

I'm having the exact same problem, Tim; at least on my desktop, haven't tried on my laptop.
I haven't been around much the last week, but it's defnitely cutting down on my posting responses as it just takes too long, and often it doesn't seem to accept my response. :veryconfu

Can't help with the columns; probably has to do with your fonts.
I'm thinking the slower response time may be do to increased use of vBShout, which increases server load. Don't know yet: might do away with it or modify it in some way. Seems like most of the conversations that occur there can probably occur in chat.

Sure Kim, just get us addicted to it almost like we're junkies and then take it away from us! :ROTFL:
I'm just messing with you! I know I would understand if you have to take it away. :)

Oh, Stimpy, I see you kids bouncing around in there every day - just can't join in.... my time here has been cut down considerably in the last week due to sllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnneee eeeeeesssssssss.....
Hmm, this is the one time it actually is relatively not-slow; it's about 1am EST so I wonder if that may be one of the reasons? ie not many site users right now?

I have been having major slow down, got an aol message that they updated me, whatever that means, and I thought maybe that's why the mouseowner site crawls along, sometimes it takes so long I just run out of time and have to go to the next chore, not noticing it on anything else except my aol somewhat, appreciate any insight.
Also, I posted a rent notice and since I have made arrangements for the points, I think I am supposed to do a closed icon on the posting, but don't know how to do that, can you point me in the right direction. Thanks, Shirley

Just an update taht I did view the site but didnt' post this weekend - I was on my laptop using various connections and things were still slow.... so having problems on both computers with various ISPs, and haven't changed any settings recently....
Sigh.... will just have to 'watch' and not join in as often....

I honestly think it's the shoutbox, due to its particular technology. I tried decreasing the number of shouts available. It seemed to help a little. Maybe what I need to do, though, is to disable smilies in shout, and see what that does?
Btw, when we have traveled recently, download times were very slow despite being connected to a "high speed wireless" connection.

I'd be willing to give up the bouncies in shout if it means that everyone can enjoy a faster MO.
Thanks Kim for your help and tech wisdom. If it were up to my tech knowledge, we'd all be on typewriters, LOL!! :hahahaha:

Well, we'll soon be moving to a new version of vBulletin (many more bells and whistles). We'll see how my "technical knowledge" (or lack thereof) comes in handy then. :upsidedow :holymoly:

I'm guessing it's your ISP. I'm whipping along today (esp. since no one's using Shout). :doublejum

:upsidedow I too noticed the absence of bounceroos today - I was able to post without waiting a loooooooong time or having my post not post.
But to be fair, I don't think that there were any bouncers around last night while I was trying to post my trip report/photos. That effort failed and I gave up.

Before you make the move, can you write down the number of posts I have ? Don't want any lost in the shuffle. TIA.

Well, maybe it was a momentary glitch during my last session. Now it's just bouncing, bouncing, bouncing along!

Maybe you just didn't notice them? There were folks "shouting" until at least 11:00 PM last night.

Could be - but I was up very late on the west coast, so that was probably only 8pm my time...... sometimes I creep around here late at night and there are only a very few of us around!
