View Full Version : Some happy news to share!! I'm getting another puppy this weekend!!

A shih tzu just like Libby. He's solid black with just a bit of white on his chin and belly. When he was born, he had a white heart on his chest but I don't know if it has grown out (I'll find out Saturday). He's 5 months younger than my first puppy, who is the joy of my life (shh, don't tell my dh ;)). His name is Echo.

I've never had two at one time, so any practical advice is appreciated!!

awwww -that is fantastic Denise! I do hope you have many happy years with both of your pups!!!

I am not all taht experienced with indoor dogs, so I dont have much advice, but I bet they will be great together :)

The most important thing to remember is to establish a "pecking order". Feed the oldest dog first. Give the oldest dog a treat first. We have always had mixed years older dogs, and this has always worked for us. The good thing is both your pups are young, and they will grow up together. They will most likely become good friends, maybe best friends growing up from being young together. :tongue: That has been my experience anyway.

Let us know when your new arrival is home, and maybe a pic too? I just love puppy breath!! :dog: :beatinghe

My advise is just to enjoy them. I was dogless for about six months three years ago and nearly went crazy. I have always had a dog around since I was 2 yrs old and to me the house is just not right without a dog. Have a great time with Libby & Echo.
