View Full Version : Everytime vs Sometimes?

I think there's a difference now of what I "need" to do vs "have" to do, knowing that we will be back so soon and so often!
There are still a few things that I want to see every time we are there: Illuminations, Wishes, Millionaire, Safari, British Invasion, Boma plus a few others. And now Soarin' will be added to that list of everytime visits.
What about you?

My personal faves are:
TTA
Buzz Lightyear
Haunted Mansion
Rock N Rollercoaster
Star Tours
Test Track
Soarin
Sadly, I can't think of anything from AK. Last trip we made it over there twice and never got around to the safari. Our kids adore The Boneyard, and we usually have trouble even getting out of Dinoland.

This one is going to depend on who is making the list, myself or the boys lol
For them its Illuminations, Lion King Show, Little Mermaid, Bear, Lights Motor Action (is that right?), Toontown, Buzz Lightyear, TTA, the buses to and from the parks, the Monorail, any and all trains (including the one ot Rafiki's place at AK), Peter Pan, Fantasmic and probably more that I don't realize.
I might have to get back to you for my list because I haven't ridden so many things in sooooo long. I love "thrill" rides but have skipped them since we started going to WDW in October, 2003, so I am sure many of them would make the list. For now, I love all the fireworks/closing shows and try to make as many of those as we can (sitting down after a busy day is so nice and they put so much into those shows!). The rest, there are some - Always go see the manatees in the Living Sea, Soaring was amazing!, Buzz Lightyear, Dole whip (every trip - a MUST now that I have taste them), PoTC, Lion King Show, Philharmagic, and the Safari.
I tend to let the boys set the pace and we don't really skip much. Each ride/attraction has its own charm to me - even things like the CoP can be a nice refresher on a hot day. :)

We could live without AK and MGM, probably because I've never gotten a chance to do RnRC or ToT. Then again, I ran into my favorite bear last time I was at AK, so I just don't know.
besides that, I must do
M:S
TT
SE
Maelstrom
likely Soarin' to be added
WtP
Philharmagic
Splash Mtn (absolute fave for both of us)
Space Mtn
Teacups
I think Splash mtn and maybe TT would be the only rides on dh's list.

And your point would be?
I could live w/o AK until I rran into Pooh in a rather deserted area and had him all to myself!

And your point would be?
Well I do get harassed by family members sometimes how I want to meet characters. I have a quirk where I like to get pics with them in different attire. MNSSHP for example, I was excited to see characters in halloween costumes. Some people thought I was a bit looney because I am adult.

I became speechless and cried the first time I met Pooh. I was 29. (I do worry that my excitement will frighten them one day, though.)

Haha! We had an awesome opportunity to take a family pic with about 15 characters at once (it'll be in my trip report if I ever get it done!) and I told Meg that my husband had a crush on her. He doesn't really, and actually sort of puts up with my Disney thing, but he does really like her song. Well, I don't know what she thought, but she did look at him like he was a total loony, and he thanked me for that later :doublekis .

:crowded: That's what my girls call me. Thank goodness I have them to hide my childishness behind. What excuse will I have once they grow up. My DH just shakes his head and laughs and my girls see right through me :sherlock: . They know I am way more into the characters than they are but they go along as my little shields.
I think I hit the Jackpot with my youngest! She absolutely is spell bound by the characters and she knows so many of their names and goes nuts at the sight of them.
Could it be because I have increased the strength of my programming to ensure a more Disney addicted offspring this go round? :sherlock: :Paranoid: :scratchch :shhh:
How far am I willing to go, more children? :crowded: :scary: ?

We always eat at Prime Time and Sci-Fi.
I have to see all the nighttime shows. Seems we always get rained out of Fantasmic, though. I think it is a curse? I have all these CDs in my car and listen to them often. Pathetic. DH doesn't quite get my love of Illuminations. Unfortunately, my oldest had problems breathing the last time we took her to it with all the smoke. She had to use her inhaler and I doubt I'll take her back to see it again. I felt really guilty.
MK is our fav park. We have to hit everything there. :bouncingc

Fun thread! Put me down as a kid internally, even though the mirror says otherwise. My kids and friends will vouch for the fact that I have still not grown up, and I don't plan to any time in the near future. DVC will ensure that!
My kid's lists would be different, and when I take them I do many things I wouldn't do if it was just me alone, but here's mine when I go solo:
MK
Haunted Mansion (as many times as possible)
Peter Pan
Carousel of Progress
Visting "Push" the talking trashcan
Pirates of the Caribbean
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Buzz Lightyear
Spectro Magic
Wishes
Philharmagic
Epcot
Spaceship Earth
Test Track
Off Kilter (a bazillion times each trip)
Soarin'
Strolling around World Showcase
British Invasion
Cranium Command when it was open (only seasonal now, I'm never there for it)
Imageworks to take pics to send to friends/relatives
Illuminations
American Adventure
Talking water fountain outside the bathrooms opposite The Land pavillion
MGM
Great Movie Ride
Who Wants to be a Millionaire
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Muppetvision 3D
I have only been to AK once, didn't find anything that I have to do each trip. I live near one of the greatest zoos in the world (Bronx Zoo), and have a membership there, so I get my zoo fix there. I go to WDW for the fantasy aspect, not enough of that for me in AK. The safari was fun, so was Kali River rapids, but neither thrilled me enough to include as must do's. Once Expedition everest opens I am sure my 15 year old will want to ride it, but I'm not a coaster person, so I'll just wait for her at the end, LOL.
Well....I feel like a TOTAL pig....but, since I am "limited" as to what I can do because of a toddler....all my "must do's" seem to be food related....no wonder I need to go on a diet!!!
Must do:
Mini corn dogs from Casey's
Mac 'n cheese from SOMEWHERE on property...yummm!!!!
B'fast or lunch in the castle
Eat at Beaches 'n Cream
Until dd gets older and more willing to "do" things....that's about it!!! It's amazing how kids change you!! Before dd, I was commando-going-roller-coaster-junkie"!!!
AAaahhh....the good old days!!!
Beca
I have to agree with most things on this thread, there is simply too many things I want to do each and every time.
But honestly, if I can spend 10 minutes sitting at the top of Main Street listening to Jim pound out some ragtime while eating an ice cream and watching the world go by, I'm very happy. That guy is so talented its mind boggling. I've enjoyed chatted a few times and look forward to saying hello each trip.
