What would YOU do if DVC announced on or about Oct.1 that both Villa's at the Contempoary and Animal Kingdom Lodge were going on sale?

AKLV.

I would love both, but if I had to choose......it is a tough call though.

I'll take two, please. :yummy:

Buy neither, especially with the cold water MS has recently thrown on renting/transferring.

Why risk buying additional points via add-ons when DVC is essentially going to cripple the product? As it stands, we're probably going to get rid of half of our 430 SSR points now. :tearsaref

We would just buy more SSR points we would love to try AKL but on concierge for a couple nights and same goes for CR but no desire to try the place more than once. Neither hotel really does anything for us other than our favourite dining is at Chef Miceys but beyond that there isn't much at CR that we care for and same with AKL.

While I wouldn't mind doing a 7 month ressie, especially at AKL, I have no desire to add on anymore homes. One, don't want the dues, two, don't have enough vacation time to enjoy additional points.

Why, I would haft to buy both, 2/3 points at CRV and 1/3 points at VAKL (Rhymes with Jackel, BTW) instead of them all at CRV.

Of course, just like SSR, I'm buying for the extra 12 years!

I would love to try out VAKL but I think I would enjoy having a small contract at CRV. :sunny:

Although AKL is beautiful and would eventually like to stay at VAKL when and if it happens, my vote would be for any additional add ons would be at my home resort of BWV AND/OR maybe just a little ;) at CRV-

I like the Contemporary- :)

Boardwalk puts me convenient to Epcot and CRV convenient to MK - and a monorail...SWEET!

Depends on how they work the point structure, as it would have to be a MK/fireworks view for my stay....cause I am all about a balcony view! :sunny:

I voted for CRV - access to the MK and Monorails would be the benefit here - we currently own at BCV (location/location/location and SAB key benefits here) and at SSR (DTD location, like the grounds and extra 12 years)

I think we would be able to book into AKLV at 7 mos window for the odd time to stay there - we have stayed at AKL 3 times and as such have had our fill

Cheers

There's nowhere else I care to own at other than BWV (Unless they open a Poly DVC but I am not holding my breath for that one!).

Not to say I wouldn't try for the contemp at the 7 month window for the monorail and proximity to the MK once or twice. However I never cared much for the look and feel of the contemporary, and AK is not close enough to the action for me. So I'm sticking with the "buy where you want to stay" theory, and where I want to stay is BWV.

Dh and I were talking about this last night. Depending on price, our budget, etc; we would probably do a small addon at CRV. While we have stayed at AKL and loved it, having the monirail at CRV would be great.

I want a few more points, so I'd add enough for 4-5 nights in a studio at AKLV in a heartbeat. If AK weren't going to happen, I'd probably do a CRV. Otherwise, I'm likely to wait - maybe look for a BCV or VWL small contract resale.

I don't think I'd buy at either place, but would be interested in staying at both to try them out.

Since I haven't heard any close to reliable rumor of Villas at the Polynesian, I guess I'd go with a small add-on at the VCR (?? or CRV???) I really didn't like being so far away from everything at AKL. We love the BCV mostly for it's location and the ability to walk and/or boat to parks.

Anyone want to gift me about $10,000? :crymeariv

I don't think that we would buy at either right now. Maybe in a few years. But I think that I would like to try both of them out at least once.

At this time, I would buy neither:burningma
But only because I don't have the extra cash right now. If I did have the extra cash, I'd be on the phone as soon as possible for AKL. :loveisint The Comtemporary doesn't hold much interest for me.

I would rub my hands together in aniticpation of hopefully getting some good resale market values for HHI!!!

We aren't interested in adding another resort at WDW. If we only ever stay at SSR and/or OKW it suits our needs for now and the immediate future.

We Love, Love Love AKL, so we'd be putting down a deposit on VAKL (rhymes with Jackal, after all) as soon as it's announced. We'd have to think about VCR/CRV, tho if they end up putting in a big swimming complex as in BC/YC, we'd be even more tempted, I expect. But I'd be liquidating some of our BWV points for VAKL, tho I'm sure we'll still end up with more points in the end.

I voted for VAKL. I think I would like to add a small contract for VAKL.

I like the idea of both resorts but to me the 'devils in the details'. The design of the resort has a BIG impact on my decision. I saw the plan of CRV and it got a :thumbsway from me. I'm not a high rise girl. VAKL has the advantage that haven't seen a design yet. I'm thinking it may be more to my liking. :idontgeti

Ok, I'd sell my BWV and BC points and buy at Contemporary if I could come out ok on the deal. We don't like the BC or BW resorts (I know - can you believe it?), so we never stay there anyway.

If transportation were not by bus only from AKL, I'd change my decision in a heartbeat and go there...

I would have to wait and see what the plans are for each resort. I would place heavy consideration into number of units, types of units, sizes, point charts etc. In theory, I would have to lean towards VAKL (It rhymes with Jackal afterall) based on the assumption that it would likely be a much smaller resort than CRV (California Redemption Value?) and could be more difficult to get into.

I do have to wonder if the Contemporary will take off some of the pressure at BWV and BCV during October. With Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party becoming more and more popular, parents might make the decision to stay closer to the MK.

Or, it could just be wishful thinking on my part...
