Hey Kim,
Does you message board software allow you to list more latest threads? It would be great to be able to keep scrolling back to see more than just the last 10 or 15
thanks,
John

I can, but then we might as well have a separate introductory "Latest Threads Page", which really amounts to getting different software. (I think the other software is more discombobulated and less user-friendly, since you have to find a very small "forums" link and then click on it to get to the main forums.)

Back when I first added LTF, I experimented with it, and 5 (the default) threads seemed too few, while 15 seemed too many. !2 seemed just right.

Remember: Folks can and should always go to the actual forums in which they're interested and check things out there.

LTF is/was meant to be a "teaser," not an entire list of all of the new posts/threads available.

Gotta say I agree with John. Most of the time I have no idea what board a post is on when I see it on LTF so when it drops from LTF I have no idea where to find it. I also don't have the time to go looking for it. I think 15-18 is a fair number of posts to keep in LTF without requiring a seperate introduction.

15 to 18 is just too much for people with small res monitors. Too unwieldy a page.

Well, I was just trying to explain what my computer-geek husband said. But, if you insist, allrighty then:

Nope.

Would it be possible to drop the rent trade from the latest list (kinda like the communtity board isn't included)? Seems like that's all I ever see when I look at the list.

A review of our database and logs has revealed that "Bounce Police" actually is the second screen name that has been established by a current user. Community guidelines prohibit "sock puppets" (i.e., more than one screen name per user) and indicate that they are grounds for immediate revocation of any and all posting privileges. Thus far, Bounce Police is the only member to be banned.

This thread is now closed.

Thanks for your cooperation and adherence to community guidelines (http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2238)!!

Kim

ETA: Bounce Police apparently was established as a (short) running joke on a particular thread in Community Hall. Because the account was not established to thwart the community guidelines (as it may have appeared to be in this thread), I consider the matter resolved. Please be aware, however, that while sock puppets may be funny on TV, they're not funny for board administrators. Again, thanks for your cooperation! :)
