Pin exchange "update" in 1st post

Ok just throwing this out there but here is what I was thinking for back to school for the kids. I was wondering who may be interested in a pin exchange maybe to start the last week of Aug let me know if there is any interest and we can set this up.

Ok so I suggest a cutoff date of Aug 20th for posting to this exchange that way we can get the pins out the last week or so of Aug let me know if that works for everyone.

Participants thus far we have 11 people lets try and get this to atleast 20 people.

What we will do is just get a pin count on how many each MO are willing to send for a trade then if no one objects I will randomly select who each peson will send pins to and how many. Not more than the max each household is willing to send out obviously I will need the numbers you have to exchange and addresses from everyone I hope this post makes sence if not just ask and I will try and put it into terms people other than myself will understand LOL.

Ok I am working on it. I am going to toss this out there and we can all decide I say up to a max of 9 pins to exchange per person is that ok with everyone? When I get everyone and the names addresses etc I will randomly put peoples names together for exchanges and pm you with the name and number of pins to send to the exchanger. So it will be a suprise as to who gets pins from whom I hope that is acceptable if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions feel free to post them.

I have both 'traders' and then some pins that are collectables that I might not mind trading, but would want to trade those for something that I collect IYKWIM.

I was planning on making this a traders exchange that way it can be a suprise we can also do a separate exchange after whith letting people know what we have and trading like that maybe one of the mods coupld put up a trading section on here for people to post what they have and what they are looking for for that part of it. As for this exchange I like the suprises when you open the package.

I would sugget that those participating offer up information on the types of pins they like to collect, no matter if it is certain characters, special events, holiday pins, resort pins, etc. It would be easter for me to know what my person is looking for rather than to list what I have available.

No matter how it turns out, count me in.

That timing works out GREAT for us - we will return from WDW with extra pins in hand, ready to ship!

DS received a very special package in the mail today! He was soooo excited! It was great as he was with me when I went to the Post Office to pick up the mail- He always asks...'"Anything for me?" and today I was able to tell him "Yes!"

He was very happy (and me too!) so a VERY BIG THANK YOU to a very special "you know who" :hug:

I hope I have not caused a problem by finally getting my pins out yesterday :bugeyed: I did send them priority mail; I just had no idea how difficult it would be for me to get to the post office during work! You would think someone had me chained to the desk this week:confused:

Anyway, I have been the very lucky recipient of pins from two locations. Y'all know who you are since you sent pins to Birmingham, AL :loveisint I think son, 17 yr old is going to confiscate the villain pin I received:D and I just loved the stickers and other pins too!

Son, 14 yr old, took a liking to that wonderful Stitch pin which I have never seen before. The two matching Mouseowners pins will be worn to all our future DVC trips, you can be sure. All the pins were welcomed to live at my house:grouphug:

Well, yesterday I received pins from Ct. I love all the pins, especially Mickey:mickeymou , and I have already put the MO button on my new Baggalini that I got for WDW. Here's a big THANK YOU for the great pins. I have just started to collect pins so I can't wait to get back to WDW in Sept. to get some more. Thanks everyone I am loving all the Disney spirit everyone on this site shows and shares with one another it really does add a special hint of Disney to our families daily lives we all love it. After people recieve thier pins please post up that you have recieved them so I can track who has and has not gotten their pins yet. Madiosn and Spencer both recieved some great pins today Madi got a Winnie the pooh and minnie pin and a MO button which she is proudly wearing now. Spencer recieved a nice Stitch pin and a great Incredibles pin and MO button and I have our MO buttons packed with our Dec trip stuff to wear proudly around the parks and when we go to visit our DVC guide.

Well, if you feel bad, then color me awful - mine went in the mail today (priority also), thanks mostly to (a) my inability to recover from vacation and (b) my equivalent inability to understand simple directions (sorry about the confusion, Darren!)

So to the 4 recipients of pins from the gopher hole - it's coming, I promise!

DS Ryan and DD Caroline each received pins this week (thank you!) I admit however I have not gotten to see them yet! They opened the package when DH got home from work, and immediately stuck them on their lanyards, but by the time I got home from work (worked til about 10 pm - ugh) I couldn't locate them in their darkened bedrooms. DH told me about it, and said they were quite tickled to have mail... and such fun mail at that! A real post-vacation pick-me-upper. So tonight I will get a chance to peruse their new pins. I heard the package included a villain witch pin, and a princess pin, and some stickers. I wanted to get a pic of the kids in their lanyards anyway - they each added to their collection during vacation. They are kinda breaking the rules, though, LOL - they put some US/IOA pins on there! :sosad: I can only imagine what an observant CM over at , say, Whispering Canyon Cafe might say to them / make them do if they caught THAT! :headscrat

We got a terrific package of pins yesterday here in Valley Stream!! I don't know if the sender was aware I am a lady and the tramp colllector, but if he or she didn't know I sure lucked out! Loved the other two pins as well, a patriotic pin and a Friendship postage stamp pin. Thanks!!

He recieved a Malifacent pin and a Mickey Coca Cola pin and a Cheshire cat pin and some great stickers. Thanks very much for teh great package.

We got two great packages today. One had a bonus of two squishy classic mickey head stickers, one with glitter.

Each envelope contained a brand new pin-one of the living seas with nemo and dorrie, one of boo from monsters Inc. Both really nice, thanks!! :cheerlead

This was fun and a great idea, but if we do it again I'd like to more specific guidelines. From what I am hearing some folks were given more names than others to send pins to. And since no one knew what to do, some sent 3 pins per person, some sent 1.

Well Paige and Madison and I all recieved a package today and inside we had a Fozzie the Bear pin (for me) Paige recieved a Figment pin and Madison recieved a nice Mickey mouse pin.

Well Spencer and Madi both recieved packages in the mail today after the long weekend Spencer recieved 2 packages and Madi recieved 1. Spencer was the recipient of an awesome Mission Space pin and postcard and some stickers in one package and a cool Figment pin in the other package. Madison recieved a very cool Space Mountain pin and postcard and stickers. I hope the kids packages have been arriving to their destinations I let the kids pick out all the pins we sent off hope everyone likes them.

As soon as ds was off the bus from school I told him "you have mail!" Big grin from little man and he basically flew in the house!

Will do Laura they have been thrilled with all the pins they have recieved and we so happy that I let them pick out the pins to send away rather than doing the dad thing and picking them all myself and divying them up between us all LOL. The only problem is that it seems some people recieving pins from more than one of my clan may end up with more than one of the same pins but atleast they get a keeper and a trader out of it.

Just wanted to say that I have been remiss in posting our wonderful shipments, and that we have enjoyed it all so very much! We too rec'd the Pooh pins from your clan, Darren! And just today - when I thought the parade of pins for our family had ended, dd Caroline got a lovely little surprise of a Marie pin on a EPCOT lanyard! She thought she was the Cat's Meow and wore it around all night, LOL! We have been overly fortunate in this house - I don't think I fully posted what all we rec'd (I think DH was with the kids when they opened some of the parcels - I *think* I've seen most of them, including some extra goodies like stickers and such!) But we have been VERY pin-blessed by our MO friends and we thank you ALL! :flowerfor

Well all I can say is a big big thank you to everyone that participated and maybe before or just after christmas we can do it again this time with a few more participants hopefully.
