OK, the summer doledrums have set in. I've no interest in work, though it is piling up rapidly and the Powerball drawing is up to $178 million.

So, dear friends, share your dream....

"What would you do if you hit the big one?"

Ah, the lottery question.... Gee, I never though about this before.... ;)

I'm right up there with JiggerJ - a big party at various Disney parks for about 2 months with friends and family. Then....

- enough points for about 6 months/year in a 2 Bedroom (or a GV!) Have to get around that maximum point rule though

- my dream was always to buy enough land and appropriate horses and ponies to start a local therapeutic riding chapter. I used to volunteer as a horse handler, and seeing the kids and watching their improvement was heart warming. These programs are woefully short of appropriate horses, expensive tack and equipment, and trained horse handlers. (But sadly, not short of kids who benefit from the progam and willing parents)

- I don't want more 'stuff' - have too much in my life. The new car would probably be a VW Jetta station wagon (I dream big!)

- find some way to put the $$$$ to good use. I grew up in a strong service culture and this year for the first time since I was a child I have not given time to volunteer to some type of service agency, and I don't feel good about that. Don't know what I would do, but something which needed it badly and which showed results quickly ie somewhere the dollar goes very far

Then I'd spend my time bwn my home on the horse farm, DVC, and travelling the world!!

Well first off I would bitch and moan because you have to pay tax on the winnings where we don't pay tax on it up here when you win the lottery then complain even more when they take more off if you take a lump sum payment you also get all the money at one time up here LOL. After that I would go out and buy myself a new motorcycle not any motorcycle but a Honda RC 211V Moto GP bike estimated cost just shy of about 2.5 million dollars if I am lucky LOL. Then I would by a complete HRC kitted CBR1000RR about 1.5 million dollars. Then for my cars and trucks to pull the trailer that will house my motorcycles I would have a Hummer H1 and H2 then I would have a BMW M5 for my everyday driver in the nice weather and a Ferrari F430 for my weekend summer car. Hmm what else would I get LOL.

A huge Mouseowners Grand Gathering sounds devine and a great way to meet all of your new friends. Where would we go first?

:Pokepoke: DSNY FN you sound like a Canadian friend of mine who won't buy Powerball or MegaMillions tickets in the US 'because I'd have to pay tax on the $350 million.....'

I know when you go to Vegas when you come home if you have won anything and the IRS takes it away we can fill out the forms at teh border or what have you and they will reimburse you the money they have taken off if you are Canadian. So I would imagine that it would be the same on Lottery winnings.

Well, it would be a long time before the four of us would be slumming it in a studio. I envision about 3 months a year in a GV with all sorts of family and friends coming and going.

The rest of the year would most likely be right back here volunteering for all those good causes I care about and have no time to help with and so few dollars to put to good use.

Other than my DVC-GV dreams I'm not much of a big ticket item shopper. Almost the opposite. I could see myself living off the grid.

I'd quit my job. Immediately...Mr Rozzie would be a good boy and put in a month notice.

then I would buy a nice home in Celebration. Keep my house in Alabama, let one of my loser relatives live in it free for upkeep. I say 1/2 the year in Celebration, other half doing some great traveling. I would buy a couple hundred extra points, enough for a month in a 1BR.

I'd pay off our debts, and pay of my parents RV. I would set up some individual funds for our nieces and nephews. I'd give boodles to the local Rescue greyhound group. Another boodle load for the pups at the shelter. I'd give both in the name of my ole' pup I lost last year. :tearsaref I loved Bavaria's idea for the theaurputic equine center. I'd give her some money to help get that started. Horses look into our soul, and give the crippled legs to walk on. :)

I would "try" to put a lot into interest safe accounts and live off of that.

Oh yeah, a big MO party! Grand villa's and champagne. :woohoo:

As you approach the forth floor BWV Grandvilla, and ring the bell at the double doors, a Butler politely welcomes you to , "The greenban's year round GrandVilla, Bedroom 3 has been converted to a large screen HDTV/Surround Sound Theater, a full Bar added to the kitchen (good bye Island!).

The full bathrooms are 'manned' by terminal missionaries, giving out intricately created paper-towel animals, and there are more than 48 towel packs available at anytime!

You see a loud, cigar chomping (unlit, uses as a pacifier) Green frog haooping by, busily talking to a construction worker in Blue jeans, yellow hard hat and carrying building plans.

"How long till Disney allows us to break down the wall and occupy the other 4th floor Grand Villa", he croaks as he hops on by.

You gotta be in it to win it!

Excuse me the buttler says, "Caviar or flies?"
