Hey all!
Just thought I'd start the 1st thread in our cool new forum:
So what are your favorite Disney Movies?
Classic
and new
I'll go 1st
Classic-none of you will be shocked to know it is Snow White & the 7 Dwarves. It started my love of all things Disney. I remember seeing for the 1st time a just a little one, I thought I was Snow White!
One of my favorite WDW memoried of childhood was me being at a character breakfast (don't remember where now) and I was all dolled up in my Snow White dress, I had the shoes, the ribbon in my hair, etc. And I had on my new Snow White watch, and I was so excited when she walked into the room that I had to show her my watch, and she was great, she was so excited about it, she brought Dopey over to see it too :)
And Walt took a big risk w/that movie, no one thought he could do it. The Disney company could be radically different if he didn't take the chance.
And new:
Well, I don't know if the Lion King is considered ''new'' any more, but it's in the modern age. Love everything about this movie! The music is amazing! Timon is one of all time favorites, one of my favorite WDW pics is me & Timon at AK on my moms last trip to WDW. To me, the animation is great, the stampede scene, for example!
Enough about me, what about you all?

Okay, my favorite classic would have to be Jungle Book :goodvibes We got that movie when my oldest son was only two. He wanted to watch over and over again. We actually bought other Disney movies after that in self defense but Jungle book will always hold a special place in my heart and his :loveisint Not to mention that it has one of the greatest Disney songs, Bare Necessities :rockband:
Now, this next one, while not a classic, :Pokepoke: also holds a special place in my heart, Flubber!!!!! It is not that I thought it was such a great movie but it was my first date with my DH :goodvibes It heralded the beginning of a beautiful relationship between two Disney nuts :)
Finally, we have to agree with your Lion King pick also! I asked my younger DS13 for his favorite Disney movie and Lion King was it. No surprise, it is simply a great movie with fabulous music :tunes:

:goodvibes You are so welcome!
I had a Snowwhite record that I used to play again and again when I was little. It had a little book to go with it. I can definitely understand why she is your fav. :goodvibes

My favorite classic is always Cinderella. Don't know why, I just think it's lovely to look at, and I've always liked it. I also love Robin Hood because I think it's hilarious, and Lady and the Tramp was always a favorite too.
I really like all the Pixars, but I love the Incredibles. "Monsieur Incroyable!"

Snow WHite is the first one I remember seeing, so that has always been near and dear to my heart.
As for nwe ones, nothing will surpass The Little Mermaid! I was 18 and it was just amazing how animation had changed. I had the sound track memorized too!

Classic: Gotta be Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, because it brings back memories of when they would show bits of this (namely when Pooh gets stuck at Rabbit's and along comes you-know-who.... and he's not in the book, you know!) on The Wonderful World of Disney back in the early 70's. That - and my kids just LOVE "Goofy on Sports". Very funny vintage stuff. I love all those old Goofy "How To" movies!
Recent: Lion King 1 1/2 I normally am not keen on sequels... and honestly, I did NOT want to even get this flick since it was one of those "made for video" only jobs that typically are of lesser quality. But honestly - I really liked this! I think it appealed to my warped sense of humor. Especially the theme park ride simulator" that's included on the DVD. TOO funny.
If i had to pick a fave Disney movie that I actually saw IN a movie theater... hmmm. Probably Nemo. I saw it by myself on a business trip, killing time. Maybe it was because I could actually focus on the movie (instead of kid-watching and doling out the popcorn, taking a kid to the potty, etc!) But it struck so many chords with me... the whole parental loss / fear of losing a child thing gets me every time. PLus the colors, the animation - all really good.
