Who can tell me exactly where this pachyderm is to be found.

Well, looking at the folliage in the background I'd say AK. The pachyderm appears to be on top of a lamp fixture.

But I don't ever recall seeing anything quite like it.

Has it been confirmed, at least, that it's in AK? If this is too easy, I must not be very observant. The base of the elephant looks like something from an automobile.

Not confirmed previously, until now, but it is in the AK. I guess I should keep my narration to myself going forward as I don't mean to make anyone feel badly about their observation skills. It certainly has to seem easy sitting on my side of the fence, doesn't it? :)

I will say that I am betting each and every person that has been to the AK has passed by this. And I am betting even more that the people that are most often guessing these What in the Worlds have been by this lots and lots of times.

Viking, we may need to have some discussion about your original guess here. While there is a light involved, the primary fixture that involves this pachyderm is not a lamp or a light, there happens to be a light on it. I know that made things clear as mud, but I went back and looked at the original picture and felt this needed some clarification.

If you had a guess and if my saying there was no lamp involved caused you to change your mind, please come on with your original guess.

Ah, gee-AK is my favorite park-I've been there many times, yet I'm still guessing. Goes to show how observand I am, not. My current guess is that it's somewhere in Asia.
