Everywhere you go,. you see the croc-wanna bes. My question is - how do the mock-ups compare to the original? As good? Pitiful?

No one in this style-forsaken town carries the true croc, but lord knows we have everybody else's version of 'em. My dd has a pair of mock-crocs and loves them, but when I tried them on, frankly, they didn't feel so great! (edited to add - NO, I did NOT try on her little size 13s, I did actually try on a pair in my own size, LOL!)
How about it - is the REAL croc the only one worth having? I saw the post on holeysoles - what about other versions?

I'd order a pair of crocs via 'net but Im afraid I might not get the right size.

Holeysoles are made in the same place as crocs and will feel and wear the same as crocs as for the Airwalk ones they say they are made the same also but as for the rest I have no idea.

Just from reading the title of this thread, I can tell it is too deep for me. <insert superficial smilie here>

i have 3 prs of real crocs, and one pr of airwalks.

my airwalks are from last year, they're very very close to real crocs but they make my feet sweat more :yuck: . i checked out this year's airwalks and they are not as soft as the ones i have but still decent.

any walmart/target knockoffs are like hard molded plastic, so no good.

I've never tried on a pair of Crocs, real of fake. Just too ugly for me. LOL :)
But if they are like most other shoes, I would say the knock-offs are not as good as the real things. Do you have a Dick's Sporting Goods or other such store? I think they sell Crocs.

I have not tried the knock offs, but I have 4 pair of the original Crocs. I do think they are ugly, but my feet think they are just beautiful. :loveisint I wouldn't trade them for anything. They wear better than my $125.00 New Balance shoes.

All this talk about crocs makes me laugh I just couldn't become a fashion victim to teh latest craze LOL. My mom went out and bought a pair based on reports from people that swear by them. She wore them to her foot Dr's appt and he told her not to wear them anymore as they are no good for her feet LOL so now she has ugly shoes she isn't supposed to wear. He told her to stick with her runners and her orthotics.

Hmmm...DisneyFAn, not sure whether I should say this, or how you might take it...BUT coming from the now X but wife of a doctor for 25 years: a lot of doctors don't know a whole lot about much of anything IYKWIM.

I think your mom should let her feet tell her if Crocs are good for them or not.
She could wear them for 'a test drive' for 1 then 3 then 8 hours and compare them with her 'orthotics'. Shock of shock, some foot docs are just set in their ways and like selling orthotics or some other gimmick. Ya gotta pick the gimmick that works for you. There are an awful lot of people who swear by the comfort afforded by Crocs. I have 2 pair and will reserve judgment until I put them through the paces at DisneyWorld...but they sure feel comfortable to my feet and I am a barefoot kind of girl.

Finally, orthodics cost a heckuva lot more than Crocs, and as far as I know CROCS don't give any kickbacks to those who recommend them.

Well, after trying on some fake crocs around town, I bit the bullet - and bought a pair of REAL ones off the 'net from Dick's sporting goods. THey have a free ship / free return ship deal going on, and I had a gift card for there already anyway - what the heck. It must have been kismet - the only size they had left were mine, LOL. I have very picky feet but am no slave to fashion - ironically, I see wearing crocs as stepping AWAY from fashion and trendiness, LOL - anything that clunky can't really be called "fashionable", can it? I have size 9 women's feet - the last thing I want is something to make my foot not only look bigger, but wide, too! Never got into clogs that much either, for much the same reason (that, and my ankles got cold in the winter!) So this was a real leap-o-faith for me! We shall soon see! Dd will be so happy - she likes to "dress alike" and her crocs are blue, and so are my crocs-to-be. O happy day for her.... hope it is for my feet as well! I tore tendons in my foot when I was about 16 - still have some scar tissue and if a shoe doesn't break in the right spots, I literally can't walk. I can tell within the first few minutes if a shoe and I are gonna get along so it should be a pretty quick decision with these things!

Ya she has been wearing them everyday for a few hours each day she likes them but still has disconfort in her feet I think it is called plantar Flachiitis (sp) I could be way off but that is what it sounded like she said anyhow LOL. She has been switching back and forth between her runners and orthotics and her crocs and her crocs still give her pain where the orthotics and runners don't. I like your comment about Dr's not knowing much of anything LOL that was great and very fitting of some of them for sure.

Dsnyfn....my sister has plantar fascitis (sp????who knows) too. On the Crocs web site they make a special shoe to address that...I think that is the one called
RELIEF. I can't get any more info on it, but there is another for diabetics that is supposedly even cushier. I like cush!!!!

:ROTFL: re doctors!
