Hi, everybody !! I just signed up because I am interested in possibly "renting" points for sometime next May 2007. I have seen the point "renting" schedule for next year, so now its time to search and see what options I have. If anybody has any recommendations that would be great. :bouncingg

Hey Michael! Welcome to MO. There's a ton of info at our companion site mouseowners.com to answer a lot of your questions. Feel free to ask anything here too.
When you figure out approximately what you're looking for, go post it over at the rent/trade board, or look for someone there who's renting points.
Nice to have you here!

Thanks again for the welcomes. I'm still plodding through all the available info and since my next Disney trip isn't until May 2007, I know have some time to make an informed decision on which ine is the right one for me and my wife. From what I gather so far is that you need to wait until 7 months prior to arrival before you can "rent" points. Never too early to start.:kickingco

Well not exactly. Every member has his or her "home" resort, the resort you actually own your points at. We can make reservations up to 11 months in advance at our home resorts. We can then make them 7 months ahead for all other DVC properties.
So you could actually rent points right now for next May if you find someone whose home resort is where you want to stay. If you're able to plan that far ahead it really is to your advantage to book before the 7 month window opens up. You're competing against a lot less owners that way, and will probably get your first choice of resort and accomodations for next May.
For some times of the year you HAVE to book 11 months out to get what you want (ie major holidays), but for May if you wait you'll most certainly get something if you wait until 7 months or less before your trip. You may not have your full choice of resorts or rooms but I don't want you to think you have to book today or you'll be out of luck.

Thanks iratherbeinwdw. That's really good info regarding the "home" resort, especially since I'm new at this. That is really good to know. I appreciate all the info I have learned from everyone so far.
Also, I big welcome to all of my fellow newcomers.
