My parents are looking to move from cold New England to sunny Florida- My step-dad has had one too many wipe-outs on the ice and at 70 thats not good-:(
They are interested in the St. Augustine area and will be visiting the area after staying with me at WDW in Oct.
Any suggestions to certain areas??? Condos that might be nice??? Ocean front areas??? Any and all suggestions are very appreciated- TIA! :)

Maybe you need to take them on a little tour of Celebration. Which reminds me of a quaint New England-y feel without the ice. A beach????? hmmmm, Storm-a-long Bay?
Just funning with ya...don't know much about the eastern coast of northern Florida. Just that I drove down I-95 for many trips from college (in Pa) to my sister's house in Ft. Lauderdale.

My mother lived in St. Aug for about 8-10 yrs, and my aunt still lives there with her DH. It is a great place for older folks - very high % of retirees there. My mom's condo was very highly populated with seniors! BUt I had to laugh, because it was also VERY political - a LOT like the place on "Seinfeld" when Jerry visits his parents in Florida!
Anyway - St. Aug is just a beautiful old town, lots to see, decent weather, not too much hurricance threat, and you do have Jacksonville nearby for medical emergency, if need be, and a larger airport. And best of all.... having family in St. Aug makes a GREAT pit-stop on a trip down to WDW, LOL! I really miss my mom's location - we could stay a few nights with her, then hit the road after b'fast and be in WDW for lunch, no sweat! Sweet! :slyasafox
Let us know how the search goes - I do know that the area has continued to go up in price - popular. Palm Coast is a nice area a bit further down the road but seems like it was pricier?

Thanks gopherit- My brother is in St. Augustine and has been condo/house hunting for them for a while but with not really any success- Step-dad is a avid golfer and my mom is an avid "antique hunter" :) I understand there are lots of fun little antique shops in the area-
I havent been to St. Augustine in years but remember having alot of fun at Marineland when I lived in Daytona Beach-
