Ok, lurking on the other board again.....I know, I know...BAD Stimpy! I was reading a thread that mentioned that if a DVC member does not use their Fastpasses, they can turn them in and get new ones with no time on them??? Did I totallly miss that DVC perk or is this person imagining things and/or spreading misinformation? I know, misinfo on the "other" board...shocker! :innocent:

This is basically what the person wrote:

"esp. if you are a disney vacation club member...you can turn them in if unused ...and get day passes" She went on to explain that she has done this at the BWVs before and was issued open ended FP's.

I could post the link to the thread if I'm allowed to :)

smells fishy to me.

The ground is littered with expired, unused FP's. What's to stop someone from collecting them and turning them in ? I agree with the fishy odor.

I agree! Besides, if that were a true DVC perk, I'm sure alot more people would have hIeard of it by now. (Unless they are keeping it secret! It's a conspiracy! :innocent: ) I'm just kind of surprised no one has called her on it...esp on THAT board LOL A few people asked questions but it seems most are believing it.

If it is too good to be true, it usually is. :tilt:

Funny, I was cleaning out the desk the other day, and was amazed at all the FP's I found. Maybe I should gather them up for our free trip, Stimpy?? :D

Well this "DVC perk" certainly bumps DVC out of the "best kept secret" category.

Disney never mentioned this perk to any of us. I think we must file some sort of class action lawsuit. Free lifetime AP's for all of us and our families! :judge:

just kind of surprised no one has called her on it...Why, and get FLAMED to death for daring to speak up?

Isn't that why we all left

Hmm I guess I had best go through my old holiday files and grab out all my unused FP'sd and bring them with me in Dec. I think somone should go on there (I can't you know banned and all LOL) and quote a CM from member services and guest services and debunk her info just for the heck of it now that would be worth watching LOL. OOps did I let the devilish side of me out again I guess that is why they don't want me over there anymore LOL.

Maybe they are confused with the ones that DVC gives you when you purchase. They gave us cards to use during our stay in March (when we purchased) that entitled us to instant fast passes to any ride. We could get up to four per card and they gave us three cards. The only problem was that the fast pass machines had to be spitting out passes when you went to redeem them. You could go instantly on the ride as there was no time on them. We got these cards the last day of our stay and by the time we got to the parks, it was too late, all of the machines were closed for the day. And our guide told us that the cards would expire in about a week after they are issued.:headbange :crymeariv

I saw that thread, too. I had assumed that is what the OP was talking about over there...I just think they weren't writing clearly to make this understood.

Gosh....I need an excuse to use this smiley :grrrrr: ...I love it!!!

I guess this is a little known fact, but you already can use the fast passes after they expire. No need to turn them in to anyone, just use them.

This works at both Disneyland and WDW attractions. It is very easy to use them the same day, the CM's just look to make sure you are not using them early. So if your fast pass time is from 1:00pm - 2:00 pm, they won't even look twice if you use them at 7pm.

But, you can also use them days after you have gotten them (no flames please, it is just my personal experience). I try not to use them before the time on the old fastpass, but if someone does try using them at 10:00 am for that 1:00pm return time from days ago, please post and let us know. Basically the CM's just don't want you returning early.

I too use FPs all the time after the expire time but have never tried to use them on a different day. I will have to try that on WEDNESDAY!

Yes, we used FP's up to 3 hours later than the FP indicated on our trip this past week:beaniepro

I've had no problem using FPs late on the same day at WDW or DL, but I've heard WDW can occasionally be sticklers about it. It depends on how crowded things are. I don't think I would try using an FP a day later, not from any morals issue but because I don't want the embarassment of being called on it!! I believe rules are meant be bent, if not broken, as long as I'm OK with being told "Sorry, not this time."

Have fun!

This week's PassPorter newsletter has a column about FPs. It states:

Do you know anyone who belongs to the Disney Vacation Club? One of Disney’s best kept secrets is the Disney Vacation Club FASTPASS Exchange Cards. These cards are sometimes given as a promotion to new and existing DVC members. Each of these cards comes with two Instant FASTPASS tickets. Put the card in the FASTPASS machine and out pops a FASTPASS ticket that you can use immediately with no waiting to get your next FASTPASS. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member, you may have a chance of being receiving these cards from your DVC rep.

I think the article in Passporter greatly exaggerated the situation.

I'm sure there are some people who have built relationships with their Guides over the years who have been slipped a few "golden FastPasses" under the table. But if I'm DVC, the last thing I want is existing customers taking up my Guide's time calling about special FP tickets. In fact, the Guides probably aren't crazy about it since they surely have sales quotas to meet.

If DVC really wanted us to have these tickets, they'd find another way to get them into our hands as an added perk. Easy methods of distribution would be putting them in our check-in packets or handing them out for attending members-only events like the summer parties and the weekly member meetings.

When we added-on last October, we were given 4 cards good for (I believe) 2 immediate FPs each day to be used over 4 days, per card. FP machines had to be open, that is to say that we couldn't just flash the cards to a CM to use the FP line.

They were clearly a good deal reward for adding on (more useful than the tote bag, though my bride would disagree) and intended to be used during the next 4 days. Quite possibly there is or was some mechanism for them to be open-ended if you purchased on the last or late in your visit. Whatever the timeline, our cards gave up the ghost after each was used 8 times, as advertised.

Well, we don't have one of those nice, friendly guides so I know we'll never see them LOL Even after our add-on we got nada....oh wait, we got another litho of BCV.

I admit that I tried calling my guide after I read about this. He wasn't available (I got his voice mail). Yesterday I sent him an e-mail, but there's been no response yet.

Hey Rozzie...I will take those. DS, 17, has finally found a collection he likes! He has been collect unused FP and keeps them in a box. I even brought him some home from DL when I went and did not get to use them because a ride closed while I was there!

We did our add-on while at WDW... When we lived in Nebraska we couldn't add-on from home so we had to wait 'til we were in Orlando. So, we took the SSR tour and after weighing the pros and cons decided to keep all our eggs in one basket and added to our BWV points. Must be that we got the FPs because we were on-site.
