Princess and Pirate party?

Is the park closing at a certain time and then reopening w/ a seperate ticket? I thought it was just a party for the kids but then on wdwig I saw there were special ticket prices for DVC owners. What is this? Thanks and sorry if I sound silly.

Yes, it's a hard ticket event, just like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

They don't really throw everyone out of the park, but if you want to stay after 7:00 you must have a wristband. You get your wristband by showing your ticket. For MNSSHP (and I assume MVMCP) they usually escort all the guests into one area so the rest of the park can be decorated.
