How many of you got a little misty eyed when you checked in for the very first time and were welcomed home??

Well I have a feeling I might be, this is our first DVC trip - in 24 days - and we haven't even closed yet. I was lucky to snag a 1bdrm on such short notice, going to my home resort, get to go to the condo meeting (yes I am kind of excited about it) and now the merry mixer!

I just feel a little overwhelmed but in a good way. I guess I am just a sap at some things :) Hopefully I can contain myself until I am away from the CM so they don't think I have totally lost my mind :D

Aww cobbler, you're as sweet as your name! :goodvibes

I was just in awe because I had been dreaming of that moment for a couple of years. It was one of the best most satisfying feelings I've ever had.

Just take it all in so you can return to that moment in your thoughts. It's a wonderful feeling to revisit. :loveisint

I don't think it's corny at all.... of course, I also get misty singing the "If you believe in magic" jingle, too, and I've been in DVC for 6 years now... so what sort of "pot" am I to call your "kettle" black, LOL?

ENJOY!!!!!

Well, I am corny too then. I think I get sentimental about it because it is such a great and wonderful thing to share with my mom and dad :goodvibes We have had so much fun planning trips together and anticipating them :loveisint

It just shows your heart if filled with love. Your lucky that you see all of this as blessings.

Have a great time... dont sweat the small stuff, slow down, your DVC now.

Well not us what we did say is finally we are here meaning it was a long road to get to that point and realizing that we should have done it in 98 when OKW was the only property. They would have taken the cost of our 3 week stay at the resorts on our honeymoon as our deposit that would have taken over 3 grand off the top and it was only 7 grand US for the 150 points at that time. Ah hindsight I tell ya.

Well, I was 'welcomed home' first time in May, and yes, I did get misty eyed. It felt soooogood. But then my kid kinda ruined the trip for me...so I left with mixed feelings.

I too toured OKW back when it was first built. I loved the finished product and kick myself when I think of what a good deal it was..and worse, that we could easily h ave afforded it!!!!! BUt I was turned off to timeshares then, and didn't realize that DVC, and points, and well...DISNEY....were an entirely different ballgame.

But I tend to look forward, not back. So now I have lots of years to enjoy my points, and that is what I intend to do! :loveisint

I wouldn't necessarily say I get misty eyed, but I certainly feel very excited when I hear that gate keeper at OKW give us a big "Welcome Home", and a salute on in. I even like standing in line waiting to check in! Just being in the lobby makes me excited to be "home" again! :goodvibes
