That is an insane number for opening weekend. This film could be on the way to $400 million.

We tried to add to that 132 million but it was all sold out yesterday. So we had to go see Superman. Guess we'll see it next week. Even with the reviews it has received it is good to see people going to see Capn. Jack and the crew. Here the cliffhanger is huge so we'll see if #3 can top #2.

Hmm - $132 million? I bet that means Disney holds onto the top slot for awhile, at least until the next Harry Potter. As a stockholder, that makes me very, very happy!!

I'm also hopeful that Cars will show strength for the long haul. It should certainly top DaVinci Code at some point, and possible X-Men.

I absolutely loved it. I found no fault of any kind with this movie. I guess that I better add that my only criteria is to be "entertained" at a movie. :ROTFL: And I was entertained from beginning to end. I loved the action, I loved the references to the first movie, I loved Jack Sparrow, the sea creatures gave me the willies, the story was great, and the ending was totally flabbergasting.

I want to see it again on the big screen in a couple of weeks.

I read another report saying POTC: DMC did $55.5 million on opening day. POTC: COTBP only did $45 million opening weekend.

So far, Dead Man's Chest is the top movie for opening day (second is Revenge of the Sith at $50 million).
