This from the last e-mail update from DVC...

Disney Vacation Club is inviting Members and their guests to take part in the second annual Summer Block Party, an exclusive Member gathering taking place at Pleasure Island at the Walt Disney WorldŽ Resort on Thursdays from July 20-Aug. 31.

Members will gather with their Disney neighbors in and near the Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club and Motion clubs for two hours of evening fun (5-7 p.m.), including live entertainers, games, refreshments and more. Admission to the party is free.

As an added bonus, Members attending the party will receive complimentary admission to Pleasure Island nightclubs for the remainder of the evening. (Note that some clubs require Guests to be age 21 or older.)

"Last year's Summer Block Party events were big hits," said Disney Vacation Club Cast Member Carol Chukwu, one of the organizers behind this year's events. "It's a great way for Members to visit with other Member families and get a jump start on a great night at Pleasure Island. We're really looking forward to welcoming Members 'home' to this year's events."

No registration is necessary for this event. Just show up, present your Disney Vacation Club Member ID and get ready to seize the night!

Sounds like a good time! :)

I'm not finding much interest in my household to attend this for an upcoming trip. Two DD's (15 & 17) think it will be only "old folks and little kids". And DW is not exactly a Disney fanatic, though she enjoys our WDW visits quite a bit. I might have to attend this party stag!:birhdaypa

Maybe I'll have to see if Rozzie is into going to this in Aug. We have dinner reservations at Raglan Road that night! :cheerlead

Well, if it was like last year, I kinda recall a lack of teens. The arcade games were completely free, lots of snacks, everyone got a Mickey bar :mickeybar and admittance to PI was free afterwards.

But, most importantly, everyone who went was given a really cool light-up DVC pin! So, go get the pin and cut-out early!

Thanks for the candid response. Sometimes we all get carried away with our enjoyment of "all things Disney" and there are definitely different levels of that kind of enthusiasm in my family.

But a free Mickey bar? I might be able to generate a little enthusiasm for that! :mickeybar

Thanks for the feedback.

We are going to try to get to the first one of these and I will report back on it when we get home :D

DH and I attended last years and we really enjoyed it. DH hit the bell and won me a silly stuffed animal, he played free arcade games, we enjoyed looking at the pin displays and having a Mickey bar:loveisint
