Is that going to be at DTD or have I totally lost my mind?

Does anyone know when it is scheduled to open?

I thought it was AK. But I have totally lost my mind. :laughing: I can never remember exact details of things, just that I read it somewhere.



Can anyone help Cobbler & I out??

I think I read the same thing Rozzie read...... at AK. But hey - my memory is getting worse with age!!!!

The dinosaur restaurant will be going into DTD. In AK, they will be building an asian themed restaurant that will be a sitdown place as well as have a counter service area.

I'm not sure which was supposed to open first but, I think one was set to open in '07 and the other in '08.

Off the top of my head, I believe the AK restaurant is supposed to open next summer. They already closed the chicken shack in Asia which was on or near the construction site. They may have already begun work.

The DTD location was quite a bit further in the distance. '08 sounds about right.

Leftocaster and TJKraz have it right. The AK restaurant will open in 2007. I don't know if they can pull it off for summer, but I imagine it won't take too long. I think the DTD dinosaur location is part of the PI re-constsruction which would take longer.

I would assume it is going to be a TS restaurant. It is owned by the same chain that owns Rainforest Cafe.

Ahhhh!
Guess I need to get us into the Rainforest Cafe! I'm embarassed to say that in all of these trips we've never eaten there!

Melody, you haven't really missed much food wise (a pretty middle of the road place, much like I feel about most Disney restaurants), but the kids love the place. The animals rampage from time to time while you are eating, there is plenty of visual things to see and it is LOUD! We also always make it a point to shop there. They tend to have some good bargains on shirts the kids like (lots of animals and colorful) for romping around in the summer so it is usually a go for us.

PJ is a trooper and afraid of pretty much nothing so far, but I have seen other small children in there that are NOT happy when the animals get loud. The elephants trumpet, the gorilla's beat on their cheat and scream at each other, etc. Just a loud place so parent of children that don't care for that be forewarned.

All that said - we are looking forward to a new restaurant with dinosaurs :) Loud is great for the boys (and for mom's that don't want to have to say "use your inside voice please" 20 times to an excited 4 year old) and dinosaurs will hopefully still be rather cool by 2008 :)
