I bet this would be a great year to go.

Hardly anyone there! I remember the first year of MNSSHP, we went Halloween night and there was not a lot of people there at all. Walked on to everything. Not anymore, LOL!

Has anyone actually purchased their tickets yet? I told Doug about it and we're going to take a short trip to WDW for this. I just got off the phone with member services, and they told me tickets go on sale July 12th (not July 6 as stated above).

We'll also be there on January 22nd. I had enough points left (without borrowing) to swing two nights at OKW.

Yes -- a specially themed parade, fireworks and events! :)

Edited to add....Daaaaah.....I missed the word "dining" in your question! -- I haven't heard that there are plans at this time to offer any.

I called a few minutes ago and ordered our tickets. This will be a different type of event since it involves some sort of quest. Or maybe it will just be similar to MNSSHP where there are candy locations to visit.

I've done the Riverboat ride when Auntie Bellem told us a story about a ghost who haunts the river.

This looks like a lot of fun. Where did you find the information?

I'm a bit guilty of not having an original source. I lifted it from a post on WDWMagic.

Does anyone have a feel what this party will be like???

I haven't been to any of the hard ticket events. Heck we've only been to WDW three times!!

I'm thinking of going the day we arrive (or fly late the night before and sleep in to give a little more breathing room). We will be using hoppers so we will use it as a park pass for the day. My family consists of Me(42, Loves the parks but not a thrill seeker), DH (42, tolerates the parks and loves pirates), DD10(definate tween but not a girly girl), DD4 (my little princess).

What do you think? will the parade be much different? How about the fireworks? Will the activities be fun for all or just the little ones? (and totally lame for DD10?)

Another important question.... What time to you think they will start letting people in? We want to go as early as possible but we don't have AP's and won't be using another ticket that day. If they really won't be letting people in until 7:30 we could fly down that day. If they let people in early at say 5pm we may want to consider flying down the night before (after schools out) sleeping in, exploring the hotel and going early to the PPP.

MNSSHP and MVMCP both start around 7:00 pm, and I believe they start letting people in about 4:00. I'm sure by 5:00-5:30 it will be a safe bet that you can get in using your party tickets.

I spoke to someone in Event Services and she told me the parade is based on the regular parade, but it will be different. The fireworks should be very different.

It might not be a good idea to do the party the day you arrive, unless you take a rest break between when you arrive and when you head over to the MK for the party. You don't want everyone to be too worn out to enjoy it.

We've done MNSSHP several times and MVMCP once. Everyone has a good time, not just little ones.

Thanks! The more I think about it, with the early entry, flying in the night before sounds like the way to go if we do this party. If we decide not to then the park should be quite empty the next morning!

If we decide not to then the park should be quite empty the next morning!

I wondered about that myself. I think I see where you're going--if MK is open until after midnight, crowds will be lower the next day. I know that logic often olds true on EMH nights, but I wonder if the same is true for hard ticketed events like this. With only a max of roughly 25,000 having access to the party and having to pay such high prices to attend, a lot of people will bypass the event.

Is the MK typically quiet the night after a MVMCP or MNSSHP?

Lisa

I guess my thinking (which is most likely wrong) was that there is normally low attendance this time of year so there are not many people to begin with. IF the party is popular and draws enough of that population until the wee hours and they are mainly familes that would attend early in the morning then the next morning might be less crowded.

But I could see it going the other way too. If that next day has spectro....

ghost1000 is looking to go in January; if you are too, then you are correct, attendance is lower then. If, however, you are looking to visit us during President's week, when attendance is high, then the thought that the MK would not be crowded the next morning might be off.

It's Pres. Week for us! We like to go just a few days early (Wed. or Thurs.) to beat the crowd for a day or two at MK. So you are right about that, it will be a different story.

We would be attending the Feb 15th PPP that is on the Thurs. before Pres. Day. I wonder what they will do with the EMH schedule. Isn't Thurs Morning ususally morning EMH.

It sounds like a lot of fun and we want to go but I've been put on hold by my DH. I need to do a little more thinking. He doesn't want to arrive late (9pm flight arrival) the night before - bad rooms & tired kids. That has us arriving at the airport the day of the PPP at 3:15pm, to the room at 4:30ish. I'm not sure what time we should get to the MK and if that would be enough turn around time to be ready for the night. I think we have some time to buy tickets so I'll wait and see what happens.
