This is what I think it says about me:
I am a diehard, true blue, dedicated, Disney nut.
I truly believe in the magic that Disney brings to my family's life.
Disney lover is an essential part of how I define myself.
I never truly grew up and never plan to.

I would say all of the above along with thrifty Disney World resort guest you know paying for all our stays early on when teh price will be much lower than later in life.

I care enough about myself to do something good for my soul. :)

That I am, and always will be, incomprehensible, to many people in this world.
And that's kinda cool.

All of the above reasons, plus I LOVE sharing the Magic! Sometimes I think I own DVC just to introduce others to Disney Magic!
Its a family thing, spending time together, doing things we enjoy, making memories..
I'll try this from a non-Disney fan perspective - it says that I'm a rich, spoiled brat with no sense of financial responsiblity who needs to expand his horizons by vacationing somewhere other than an an overcrowded, loud, corporate cash cow theme park.
From my perspective, being a DVC member says that I love to have fun, and I have decided to share that fun with my family year-after-after in excellent accomodations at the happiest place on earth.
It also means I get to feel that giddy excitement after making ressies for the next trip every year, which I just did last week! And finally, it means I get to say this every year - "Rock on, I'm goin' to Disney - again!!" http://home.nc.rr.com/mackowsky/rockon.gif

That I care enough to buy the very best....
Seriously - for us, I second TW1, it's all about the family. Buying DVC means we signed a contract to take time together annually in wonderful places, with beautiful, well-appointed accommodations so that we can truly "enjoy" the memories we're making. I think it says we value our family enough to actually invest in it.
Anybody seen those great ads recently for "when you need a vacation AFTER the vacation" (where the man kisses his wife lovingly goodnight... and then climbs up onto the top bunk of a kid's twin bunk set?) That's us, visiting family, doing the world tour for peace. But not with DVC. For some reason, the same family that can't be dragged to our mid Ohio Valley home will gleefully meet us in Orlando any ol' time, and this past summer, we had family guests at HHI. It really is like a second home - except we get to choose over and over again where the home is located, the theming, and even the size! How great is THAT!?! :goodvibes

Love the hat! oh great inscrutable one!
Isn't it cool? :kickingco
I wore it to MNSSHP and also to the door when kids came trick-or-treating.
Inscrutable? Hardly. I am *way* out there.

Yes, awesome hat Kim!
For most people, my DVC means I have finally gone over the edge into the DIsney world.
My accountant mom thinks it wa s sound financial decision.
My in-laws don't know. Part of me wants to think they'd be happy about it, as they love DIsney too and that is the only thing they've ever spent their money on non-grudgingly. Part of me thinks it would just prove that I'm a snob and I'm turning their son into a snob too.
I think it means that I don't have to wait an eternity btwn trips! :beaniepro And that's what really matters!

I like the way your mom thinks! :)
For me, as corny as this is going to sound, it makes me feel that I am part of the Magic. I just love it!!!! and in the end I can pass it on to my kids and continue a passion that I have had for Disney.

The completely egotistical side of me is for a status thing. I always thought the members of DVC were part of an elite group and I always wanted to be in that group ;)
But it says that we like to vacation as a family and like to have nice accomodations to do so. It also says we are paying for tomorrows vacations on today's prices :)

For me I could not pass up the chance to "own a piece of the magic". I was so excited when I found out you could actually buy a piece of Disney World. How cool is that? :bluebloun It makes me feel as though I have some ownership and a little home to call my own down there and everyone else are visitors. It's a whole other level of being a Disney freak I guess. I personally feel I get so much more out of my vacations as a DVC member. :loveisint

To my family in CA - it means that I have finally gone over the Disney edge - however they do still ask me to help with all of they Disney vacation planning!
For me and DH - it's quality time insurance, and a piece of the magic! Military life can be a bit - well - disconcerting at times. We've moved 8 times in the past 6 years, DH has to leave all the time.... and most of our "vacations" are going back to stay with my in-laws to see family! Not quite the bunkbeads in the commercials - but close! Our Disney vacations really are important to our mental states!!!! I need time with my kids and DH somewhere where we can feel happy and silly and papmered! And a room at the All Stars wasn't going to cut it!
