WDW Christmas Services has always had a tough job....putting up more than 100 tractor-trailer loads of Christmas decorations throughout the parks and resorts usually starting a day or two around Thanksgiving.
Things have changed.
I was informed that the Christmas tree and entrance decorations at AK are now completely installed, and infact, the Christmas audio is now runing as you approach the enterance to the Oasis.
Personally, I think it's too darn early. Your thoughts?

Can we get Thanksgiving out of the way first. :bluebloun I love Christmas so much, it's my favorite but I like to anticipate it. I wouldn't want to be tired of it before it arrived. JMHO. :)

I have mixed feelings on this one.
Personally, I find that holidays in general are celebrated much earlier in North America. In Germany, first Advent was the start of the holiday season, and we didn't see decorations before then. The tree was often decorated by parents on Christmas Eve.
However, I can understand at WDW as people want to see decorations when they go in November. I feel that way right now as I am trying to squeeze in a November trip, checking decoration schedules.
But November 2 is just a bit too early in my mind - November 15th or so I could see....

I think it's WAY too early too! We just got done with Halloween, and Thanksgiving isn't until the end of the month!

Halloween was just Monday, for heaven's sake!
Christmas season doesn't hit me until I get to WDW to see the decorations :goodvibes

hey I am going this weekend and I was a little mad that I couldn't do both the wine/food festavial and see the Christmas decorations....
now I can - sort of....
this is great news for me!!!
I had heard that Disney is cutting back on this workforce. So that might be the reason they had to start so early. Less people same work so your only choice is to start earlier.

Right now, to early. I understand how difficult it is to get everything in place in only 2-3 short days. If they wanted to spread it out more and not be so rushed or because of the work force, then starting it the week of Thanksgiving is more ideal.
It really starts to feel like the holidays the week of Thanksgiving to me and a lot of people put their tree up around that time. I am not one of them but they do. I put mine up when we get back from the World. That is one less thing I want to hassle with before I leave.
I think it is to early. It doesn't even feel like the holidays are approaching yet here in MI. Its going to be in the 60's the next couple of days.
