Merry Mixer?

We went to last years Merry Mixer - as did Diane, Jim (FrozenFingers), Caskbill and a couple others I can't recall at hte moment - and it was very enjoyable. No charge, had a shot at a great door prize. Had Carollers (sp) circulating as well as a comedy team. Complimentary cookies,cider, juice. Some DVC types were mingling about but no sales pressure.

A very enjoyable time, hope they offer it again this year.

DW and I went to a Mixer last year as well. Very nice. It was located in a roped-off area just outside the International Gateway, which made for convenient access for BWV and BCV guests. In addition to what KNWVIKING said, I'll also mention that they had characters on hand for photos. DW and I got our photo taken with Chip and Dale (in winter garb.) Later in the event Mickey and Minnie also made an appearance.

I don't recall any formal presentation (i.e. a speaker)--they just allowed members to socialize and freely visit the scattered exhibits.

As we departed, they were passing out engraved DVC keychains to all attendees.

Bummer I think I will miss out too. I will be there Tuesday the 29th and leave on Friday the 2nd. Plus even if they did hold it on that night I have MVMCP tickets. Drat.

Return of the Merry Member Mixer

The popularity of 2004's Merry Member Mixer event has prompted organizers to continue this new tradition this holiday season.

Each Thursday in December (Dec. 1-29, 3-5 p.m.), Disney Vacation Club Members are invited to celebrate the season in an exclusive area just outside International Gateway at Epcot®. Step behind the gated "garden wall" and enjoy a live DJ, festive carolers, Santa's favorite cookies and punch, a variety of "reindeer games," and, of course, a cheery bunch of familiar characters. (Also look out for some wisecracking elves who will stop at nothing to determine if you've been naughty or nice.)

Hmm I think I may be hard pressed to convince the DW to go down after the 19th of Dec when I am taing a week off work because I have some extra holiday time. I wonder if I planted teh seed now if she would go for it I would book POP for us to stay at we can't wait to check it out.
