Our third day at the parks was spent at MK again. We decided to spend more time there than anywhere else for the kids. Instead of taking the MK bus from OKW we took one to Epcot and then hopped the Monorail to the TC and then on to MK. Following the advice of people on this board we asked for seats up front. On the first ride we got them and the kids loved it. The driver was pretty quiet but it was still cool. DS loves any kind of train so this was tops for him.
Today we wanted to be a little more focused and move ride as much as we could in each section before moving on. So we headed for tomorrow land first. We rode the TTA to get things started and the kids really liked that. When we got off we saw that Buzz and Stitch were signing autographs so we headed that way for that. Before all that we had got our FP for Stitch's great escape. We had a couple hours to kill so we ate lunch and kind of looked around some of the shops. We got to our FP arrival and I realized DD was to short to ride. This really broke her heart and I let DW and DS go while I consoled her. (NO FUN for either of us) Finally I convinced her to get in line for the carousel of progress. Amazingly she liked it. I think that ride is due for a little bit of an upgrade or to be replaceds but hey at least it was nice and cool inside.
My poor DS, I never got to ride Stitch's great escape but from what my DW said it is pretty intense. He wasn't very pleased with this ride either but did like the fact that Stitch farted during the ride. Ah 6 y.o. boys. After we got out of that ride we got fast passes for Buzz Light Year's ride. While waiting for that we rode the Astro Orbiter. Have I mentioned that quite a few rides at WDW have a very similar set up. Spinning rides that go up and down. Let me count the ones I noticed; Astro Orbiter, Dumbo, Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride, Tricera Tops spin. I think thats it, I guess its not a lot but it sure seems funny.
After we were done spinning it was time to ride Buzz. I have to say this was probably my favorite ride of the day. Really cool concept and great for everyone in our family. My DS loved it, we won't have near the trouble getting him to ride it again, unlike Expo Everest. We wanted to ride the speedway but the lines were pretty long so we passed. I think they should do a FP on that but I don't know how they would do it except for dedicating a specific lane for the FP line.
Next up for us was Disney's Philhar Magic. We went and did a FP for it but probably could have just waited in the line. While we waited we did Small World. Of course the kids loved it. I have to admit the refab was well done. Besides the song it was a nice experience. Philhar Magic was great. DD took the glasses off pretty early on because she was a little scared. She still liked it but just had to do it her way!
We had promised DD she could see Cinderella's show so we got over there a few minutes before the next show. I went for Ice Cream while they waited and everyone enjoyed this show... and the ice cream! Next we headed to Frontierland. Still pretty bummed that Pirates was closed but we did ride the carpets and the Jungle Cruise. We had a good time and were planning a trip down Splash Mountain but the FP wait was close to 9:00. We thought we might get it the next day. Everyone was pretty tired by now so we headed back to grab a bite to eat in our room. We thought about heading back out later but decided to just hit the sack and get some rest and called it a night. I continued to work on that 12pk of Corona!
Our final day at the parks we plan to visit MGM in the AM and MK in the PM for Spectromagic and Wishes.
Stay Tuned and thanks for all the kind comments to these posts.
