Refreshed, we decided to stalk Mary Poppins. The CM managing the Meet and Greet for Pooh/Tigger/Eeyore in the U.K. told us she would either show up inside where we were (if the band was playing at 4 p.m.) or would be outside and where she she would come out. Well no band and Mary came strolling out and we followed her to her greeting place under a tree. D was sputtering "Mare Popp, Mare Poppin" and totally freaking out. I had a couple folks go ahead of us so she could pull herself together. :D When she got up to talk to her, she couldn't speak! Mary asked her several questions which only got nods, we took our official photo shot, and then as we departed, D finally said very quietly, "Hi Mare Pop Pop," which was said too quietly for Mary Poppins to hear. :headbange
After leaving the U.K. pavilion, we strolled around some of the F & G displays, took some pics and then headed for the “Pootinky” Ride, otherwise known as Journey into Imagination. D loved this in Feb. and when we get skunked, yells Pootinky and waves her hand in front of her face. Well, we loaded up, and she delivered the same at the scene. The people riding with us totally cracked up.
As we unloaded into the Image Works, D got very excited about being there. The “conducting” sections were crowded, but I let her down, and she made a bee line for the floor section where one steps on the rectangles and sounds that match the pictures are played. She “danced” all over the place there for about 10 min. Really fun stuff.
Then we did bathroom breaks and while H was away, I told D we had a decent amount of time to kill before dinner. I said, “Do you want to go to Spaceship Earth?” And she looked at me and said, “Big Ball?” I said, “Yeah!!! Big Ball! You want to go do that?” And she said, “YES!” So, that’s where we went next. After enjoying a ride on Spaceship Earth, we decided to go enjoy a margarita outside at the Mexican Pavilion. While there, we reminisced about being there with Rozzie and Mr. Rozzie, and D talked about them for awhile. Then some weather started blowing in, so we made our way over to Le Cellier and even though we were 15 min. early, our table was ready. It was our first time there, and a GREAT time was had by all. We were seated in the back right corner of the restaurant where there’s only three tables. We were in the middle, and to our left was a family of 4 and to our right were two DVC couples. Lots of fun cross-talk among the 3 tables, great service, and good food!!! :grouphug:
After dinner, we were BEAT, so we made our way back to SSR and when we arrived it was about 9 p.m. Our luggage was there, and my H volunteered to give D her bath, so I walked over to Artist’s Palette and grabbed some bottled water and one beer to split (we are getting OLD). Got back and D was loving her pull-out couch. Right then, I heard clip-clop, clip-clop. I yanked D out of bed and out onto the balcony, where we looked down on the carriage ride going by. “Neigh! Neigh!” yelled D, who’s convinced she’s fluent in several animal languages. I gotta tell you – that clip-clop sound was WAY COOL! Even cooler that it was real and not themed, IYKWIM.
So, I resettled D in her bed, and H & I sat out on the balcony and split our beer and drank some water and just enjoyed the night. I’m really glad we own at SSR, but in the dead of summer (July/Aug), I think I’d prefer to stay elsewhere, as the FL heat will override the current theming. But, since we don’t really go during at July/Aug., it won’t affect us.
The next morning, I helped open up the gym, and did a 3 mi. run in ½ hour. Came back and hung out at the room until H was ready to go work out. D & I went to have breakfast while H did his workout. He then joined her, and I went over to rent our car at the Dolphin. Was a solo rider out of DD to the Dolphin, so the bus driver took me directly there, and got our car in short order (thanks Melissa – you are great!). Drove around to the room :coolcar: and helped H load up. Left around 10:30 a.m., and headed to the Gulf Coast. Had a GREAT weekend there, and left on-time yesterday out of Tampa to come home. Alberto made it easy to leave, as it was ugly out. The Gulf looked like the Atlantic when a hurricane is coming – very high, very brutal waves.
So, for anyone who wonders if one day/night at The World is worth it if you are going someplace else in FL, my family’s answer is YES! We had a blast! :kickingco
