Flight arrived on time in MCO, so loaded up the 28 lb.er into her stroller (yea! first one onto the jetway!) and away we went to the Magical Express counter. It was a Thursday, and about 10:40 a.m. and it took almost no time to get through the short line. Once again, the thing that slows this process down the most is people getting to the front of the line and ignoring the CMs who are open and waving white Mickey hands to try to get folks attention to step forward and check in. I think a system that possibly delivers a small shock to those standing at the front of the line is necessary. :tilt:

We were the only 3 standing in line to go to SSR, so we were added to a bus going to Port Orleans. After everyone was unloaded from the two sides of PO, we had a nice ride over to SSR and a great conversation with the bus driver. He was so happy we weren't irritated that we were the last stop. I don't see how we could have been irritated...in both instances, he had everyone off the bus and their carry-on unloaded in under a minute each time. It was truly amazing to watch! He, and all the passengers, were very organized! :loveisint

Anyway, we unloaded at SSR and went right up to the counter. There were about 6 CMs working check in, and 2 were open. I had made a request to be near the main pool, and the CM said we were assigned a 4th floor in the Springs, and was going to offer me alternate choices, and I said, "Sounds great." I didn't even know if the room was ready. It was, and I said, "I'm here one night. If you have a closet that has a shower, I'd take that." He laughed and another CM who was a trainer, came over and said, "You're a rarity."

We zoomed over and dropped our carry on luggage in our room. On the flight, or on the bus ride, I asked my H what he was thinking for lunch. He said, "Don't laugh, but the chicken strips over in MGM." Ironically, I was thinking the same thing! So, we thought about playing Bus Roulette, but really wanted the chicken and to get the 28 lb.er over to see Ariel, so we walked to the bus stop to wait for the Studios bus. Well, it ended up we could play Bus Roulette and fulfill our needs, as the Studios bus showed up right then.

Got to the Studios, grabbed a Fast Pass for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and then backtracked to (is it called Sunset Plaza? area) the road to the Tower of Terror and sat down to eat. It was not crowded at all even though it was lunchtime, and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

Then it was off to ArELLL as my D calls her. Well, I wish I had the video camera trained on her as she watched the show. She saw it in Feb. and it was the first show she had been able to sit through, and recently had started asking to watch ArELLL at home. Let's just say that D was quite participatory (singing the last word of each line of each song....SEA....ME...etc). Then, when Prince Eric shows up, she yells out "DADDY" because that's her Daddy's name. Luckily, everyone around us was enjoying her exuberance, and at the end, she knelt up on her chair and yelled "YEAH!!!!" and started clapping extremely enthusiastically, and all those around us joined in the enthusiastic clapping. It was a great moment, though later that day, we talked a bit about keeping quieter in shows. :o

From there we went up to the Great Movie Ride. We asked for the Western Scene, which was no problem. We were told it would take a couple circuits before they could work us in. So we got to line up in Line 1, and it was 3 loads (two training runs in the front section) before we were loaded up. Each time they kept us informed, and then another family asked for Western and they were in Line 2. We loved just relaxing and we all participated by waving at all the other cars as they took off each time. The CMs hosting the vehicles seemed to really like that, and would get their cars to wave back at us. We did the Western scene, and I now know for sure that I did see it once before and it was the year this park opened. It was good to see it again!

From there, we did MuppetVision, which my D insisted on watching without glasses, but still laughed in all the right places. Yeah, I'm sure glad she has an opthomologist appointment later this summer!!! From there, we decided D was tired (she'd been up since 4:30 a.m.), so I told her we'd take the boat over to Epcot, and she could nap on the way. We did grab the ferry, and she did nap until we unloaded over near the International Gateway.

Ya know, DD probably made the day of all the people who sat around y'all during the Ar-ELL show :D I sure wouldn't have minded that kind of exuberance!!

What a great start of a one day trip:jumpingbe

Thanks for the report! I think your family did more in 1 day than we've done in several. :) Sounds like you had a great time so far!

AAAhhhhh, I would have paid money to see little L in The Mermaid Show. I just love watching all those shows with kids that are into it. It makes it!!

Sounds like a great trip, and your "checkin" karma is still intact!!! ;)

Since my kid is now a quarter of a century old, I so enjoy watching the reactions of the little ones on all the Disney rides. It brings back such wonderful memories!
Keep these stories coming, Nono! It is so cute to hear about your daughter's special memories (and I hope you are getting them all on video!)
