We went tonight. It was very lame I thought. My oldest sat there in a daze, my youngest only twice showed some excitement - once at Cinderella coming out and then laughed at Goofy getting tangled in some ropes. There was really only one cool magic trick the whole show. The rest was just a very poor attempt at a Disney stage show. I'm surprised - it was done by Feld that does the ice shows and they're usually very good. I guess it was just really lacking something, needed more excitement. :bored:

I'm sorry Rash! :faint:

I paid for the cheapest seats and even got a discount on top of that for buying opening night tickets. It wasn't even worth what I paid.

thanks for the warning. I usually buy tickets for these shows when they come to our area. I have loved all the ice shows!

Whatever you do - DONT think of all the Yuengling that would buy!!

These shows are always hit and miss with my children and sometimes I think they are interested and it turns out to be the most amazing things to them. My oldest (6 years old) is very into magic right now and would probably love it. Younger brother (4) would probably be bored to tears.

It is kinda like the cool toys you know they will love that the toss aside for the $5 trinket or simply play with the box!

Sorry the girls didn't like it Shan!

I moved the thread to the Movies, Television, Radio, and Multimedia forum since this is about a Disney related show.

Lenshanem, sorry you didn't enjoy it - and thanks for posting a review for the rest of us!

Went to the show last night with DW and 6YO DD. Although I agree that it wasn't quite as entertaining as Disney On Ice, we were so happy just to see the characters in person without going to the world that we all loved it! My DD is at the age where we weren't sure if she would still be into the characters, princesses, etc - she's into Spiderman, Jimmy Nuetron, etc now. Not to worry - she was laughing, yelling, etc - she loved it. Tt certainly helped that we had the best seats of ANY show of any type that I've been to in my entire life. I'm talking first row, dead center, 4 feet from the stage. I could see Mickey's pores. I guess ANY show would be good from there!

My Husband and I went to Disney Live in D.C., and we had a blast! The Characters eyes and mouths moved perfectly in sync with the audio, the costumes were wonderful, and the magic was fabulous!
While I agree that the show is not perfect for all age ranges, no magic show is. My Husband (a magician) says that magic shows are entertaining only for those who are able to pay attention long enough to know when they have been fooled. Kids aren't exactly known for that. In Fact when clients book my husband, we gather information about the target audience and discourage shows for audiences under 3 yrs old. We even have a show that caters to the younger ones involving quick tricks with lots of props and audience participation. A Stage show like Mickey's Magic Show is better suited for the 7 and up range since audience participation is nearly impossible. All in all Feld entertainment did a fabulous job with the theatrical production of this show, just keep in mind that if your children are not in that target age range you are mainly paying for the Disney in your backyard experience.

Sorry this so long, but I just wanted to give another perspective :cheerlead

Funny you mention that. That was the FIRST thing out of my mouth when Mickey and Minnie came out - "Hey, they blink!"

Glad you reminded me - I've been meaning to figure out a good time to go. With my life, I have to plan things months in advance or it aint gonna happen. You going?
