I was just looking at the Travel Channel's website and saw that there's going to be some Disney shows coming up in the next couple of weeks (I don't know if these have been on air before....I know how the Travel Channel loves to re-run their shows over & over). Here's what I found:

TODAY, 6/5 @ 12:30pm (est)
TRV — Great Hotels
Disney's Grand Floridian
The perfect spot for an old-fashioned family vacation or a romantic getaway, Disney's Grand Floridian is a Victorian-style summer beach house. This hotel features a Walt Disney suite, complete with Walt's train collection and a Mickey Mouse footstool.

Thursday, June 8th @ 12:30pm (est)
TRV — Great Hotels
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
At Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, guests experience life in the middle of an African wildlife reserve complete with sightings of exotic animals. The hotel features a thatched roof-like lobby, original art and an indoor high-flying suspension bridge.

SUNDAY - JUNE 11th @ 1pm (est)
TRV — Disney's Animal Kingdom
Disney's Animal Kingdom
Go behind the scenes for a tour of Disney's most ambitious theme park. Discover the challenges involved in combining thrill rides and live animals, and find out the secret behind Disney's largest audio animatronic figures.

WEDNESDAY - JUNE 14th @ 12:30pm (est)
TRV — Great Hotels
Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
Nestled on a lake within eyeshot of EPCOT at Walt Disney World, these fantasy-themed resorts turn back the clock to the turn-of-the-century summer homes of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Samantha enjoys the super-sized pool and a Kitchen Sink sundae.

FRIDAY - JUNE 16th @ 12:30pm (est)
TRV — Great Hotels
Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Towering pines, babbling brooks, geysers, totem poles and stone fireplaces—all the trappings of the Northwest can be found at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Samantha goes on a quest to spot Fire Rock Geyser before boarding the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

SUNDAY - JUNE 25th @ 3:00pm (est)
TRV — Travel Channel Secrets
Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes
Explore Disney's Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center, and Disney-MGM Studios in this in-depth behind-the-scenes tour. Once a sleepy town, Orlando has become the nation's premiere vacation spot and a rite of passage for children the world over.

Enjoy! (I'm going to set my DVR now!)

They really are all fun shows. I think I have most of TTC's Disney lineup on my Tivo box now. :)

Just bear in mind that most of the shows you listed are at least 3 years out of date. I know the Beach Club episode of Great Hotels has the Tapestry of Dreams parade that ended in March '03. The Animal Kingdom show dates back to at least '02, so no Expedition Everest there. Even the WDW Behind the Scenes show is a few years old. I think Mission Space is shown as under construction in that one.

The "Undiscovered Walt Disney World" that airs on Discovery HD is a little more current--and it's absolutely STUNNING in high-definition. If you have an HDTV, it's worth calling in sick to work to see that show at 2pm eastern tomorrow. :)

One of my other favorite WDW shows is an episode of Unwrapped on the Food Network. They just re-aired it a few weeks ago so I don't know when we'll see that one again. Their Fairy Tale Weddings program was pretty good, too.

There's also a show that runs on the Travel Channel that gives an overview of the Disney Deluxe resorts. I can't remember the title right now. Honestly it wasn't the greatest show--90% of the video footage was re-used from other TTC programs. However, the reason to watch this particular program is that it covers Saratoga Springs as one of the resorts! :D There's about a 5-7 minute segment on SSR. If I remember the title or see it listed in the Bartlett Sloan listings, I'll try to remember to post.

While I'm thinking of it, another fabulous program, which also happens to be less than 6 mos old, is the WDW episode of Modern Marvels from the History Channel. It first aired on Christmas '05, and it's now out on DVD if you want to order. I got it on Amazon for under $20. That one covers every new attraction including Soarin' and Lights, Motors, Action. There's even info on Everest although it was still under construction when filmed. This show is two hours long and full of great info and great images.

I know the show you're talking about, but I can't think of the name of it right now either. It shows SSR as being right across from the Magic Kingdom. They SAY Downtown Disney, but used the wrong footage in the show.

It does drive me crazy :hammer: how the Travel Channel keeps running the same show over & over...without updating...BUT like everyone else, I just can't get enough of it and it temporarily gives me my Disney fix to get me by until my next WDW trip.

Thanks for all the info!!

Thanks for the info guys! :)

I had never seen the GF show before- Ok...how many points would it take to stay in the Walt Disney suite? ;) I would have thought I died and woke in Disney heaven! It was AWSOME!! I never knew there were rooms like that available at the World-

I love Samantha Brown. She is a hoot.

Last night we were talking about our Dec trip and doing the DDP. I asked which signature restaurant he wanted. We had been talking about Yachtsman Steakhouse, but I told him that it had not been doing too well on the boards lately. He said "Well Samantha loves it"! So I guess that is where we will eat. :blueflowe

Oh yeah, does anyone notice that when Samantha is at VWL she says that the 1 BR have queen size beds.
Can you imagine?????

Yeah, I caught the bit about the queen beds, and she always says something about Uncle So&So crashing on the couch with the kids. That would sorta be over the DVC limit!;)
