Ride on the Breathless-Update pg 2- OH NO!!!

Last visit to the World I was on the balcony watching the Breathless cruise around crescent lake- WHOA!! They were going FAST!

I understand that you can take a 10 minute or a 1/2 hour cruise- has anyone down this? Looks interesting and different-

I have done this several times. My son used to be a lifeguard at SAB for his college program. We met the Cast Members who captain the boat and they treated us to a ride on his 21st birthday. We had a hoot. We had so much fun that the next couple of trips they offered to take us again--they enjoyed watching us have such a blast. We did go very fast, and we got very, very wet. We rode from Y&B down to MGM and back again several times, running circles around the Friendship boats. Then they took us to EPCOT and went into the lagoon a little ways past where they take you for the Illuminations cruise. First trip we stayed out about 45 minutes. Since we were treated for these rides, I can't say what the normal ride time is or what the cost is.

The Breathless is one very beautiful boat. Her captains have special training and not many Cast members are offered that opportunity. She was refurbished about a year or so ago.

Everytime I see someone going out on her now, it brings a huge smile to my face and I know what a good time they are having.

I've been aboard the breathless many times and it's a blast!
In good weather it's really pleasant to take the breathless out for an illuminations cruise too!

We did this a few weeks ago with friends. Mike was our driver and he was GREAT! You do get wet but it is so much fun. We booked it spur of the moment and it worked out really well.

I apologize, I should have stated in my reply to my own thread that the prices are the total price to "rent" the boat for the time period. Including your cm captain that will toot you around- 7 person max. at a time-

Wow, that is a great deal. If we had 8 (right now we only have 3) it would be a little more that 10 dollars each, plus tip. That sounds like so much fun.

Double Drats! This has been on my "list" for quite some time. I guess I can't wait around and always think things will be available forever. :(

The cm had no idea- Today was the first that she had found out about the day excursions even being discontinued- She put me on hold to double check-

Hopefully this is only temporary and we will be able to get further info-

They do take it out of service for refurbishment every now and then, and that takes quite a while, maybe that is what is happening.

I gave Recreation another call this am for further info-(sometimes it doesnt hurt to double check!:D)

I was told that the Breathless will be in refurbishment from Oct. 1-15 possibley longer depending on what needs to be done. The very helpful cm also told me that they refurbish during this time every year and that those dates have been completely blocked for the Breathless for any bookings inc. Illuminations cruises.

In making an additional ADR for the Oct. trip I asked the cm to check on the Breathless rehab. She stated that the Breathless will be getting rehabbed Oct. 1st thru Nov 30th. Just a heads up for anyone hoping to enjoy a spin during that time frame-

This is a boat that you wouldn't want to stuff 7 people into, IMHO. Consider it a towncar/limo of the lake.

My DW and I did the Illuminations ride in Breathless on Valentine's day. It is a romantic, sexy boat.

Two years later, we went out on a pontoon with friends, and it was more comfortable and fun for a larger group (we brought food and grog).

Alas CB, it is not new to Moi. I have done the pontoon/picnic thing a few times with me piloting from the Poly.

It IS great fun, maybe some trip when I'm not so booked up with other stuff we can do it together! That is if you don't do it with someone else first! :crazy:

It was wonderful. The only negative was..for the IC you can't really get up and walk around as you can with the pontoon boats (cheaper).

Colorado Belle .. actually the way the boat travels..and even turns..all the seats remained dry. Also.. they put towels on all the seats..guess so no one sweats and ruins the leather.

It was a cool once in a lifetime experience on this neat power boat and all its history. My extended family loved it too!!
(See.. I live on the Barnegat Bay here in NJ and my boat is in the backyard..but Im always drawn to stay, eat and play by the water even when on vacation.)

My most favorite experience, which we did for the 1st time in May, was a 2 hr. Bass Fishing trip on the MK lake....caught tons of nice large mouth bass....can't believe I've not thought of doing that in all the 34 yrs. going to WDW....but guess that's another thread.:scratchch
