I believe this is the one table service restaurant we've never visited at WDW. The lunch menu looks pretty good, but my curiosity is piqued regarding the character dinner. The menu looks like a good fit for DW and I. DW likes a good turkey / stuffing / potato dinner every once in a while. In fact, that's the dish that caught her attention from the lunch menu. And I'm easy to please. :) I'm just a little worried about the kids.
I've read that the food is served family style. We're a party of 4. Does that mean we will have our own table and servings, or will we be sharing with another family?
The menu at Allears lists the menu as Thanksigiving-type fare (turkey, beef, ham, potatos, etc.) plus macaroni and cheese. Do they have anything else for kids? The lunch menu does list chicken nuggets, and I know that would go over better than trying to trick the kids into ham or turkey. ;)
Any other comments (positive or negative) regarding this meal?
TIA

Well you asked for the positive and negative and I am sure I will be in the minority here but LTT was not one of our favorites. You will have your own table with platters brought to you. Maybe it was just a one time visit for us but the turkey was VERY dry. It was brought out on its own plate and you could have used the slices as frisbees. The mac and cheese seemed like an undercooked still frozen stouffers entree. On the upside the location is great and the characters were wonderful! We were even lucky enough to be chosen for a magical moment by ringing the dinner bell. Sorry to be the first one to respond with a negative. I know that LTT is very popular with alot of folks.

We've never been there for dinner but lunch was very good. I also heard that it is one of the better kept secrets as far as character dinners (character interaction) goes.

It's okay. Not great, not bad. We've gone there a couple of times. The characters are outstanding. It seems more and more places at WDW are going to the family serving style and I don't think Disney does that nearly as good as they do a couple of their high end buffets. You'll have your own table just like at most other restaurants but the food will be on platters to share.

Happy to see someone post this. We've never tried here either. THe food *seems* like a good fit for our family, but frankly, the platter-type meals always make me feel guilty. SOmetimes, you don't want a whole platter - just more of a particular item. BUt no matter where we were (Garden Grille, for example) that served this way - they always wanna bring you the whole thing (perhaps pre-made in the back and can't specially pack one with just what you want). In any case, another reason we've never tried here is because we usually go in August... and the idea of TUrkey dinner in the August heat just kinda makes you go Ewwwwww.... and if the turkey is in the shape of rigid frisbees, well... double ewwwwwww.
Nonetheless - we feel like it's unchartered turf we must eventually conquer, LOL! MAybe we can work it into a non-August trip... though surely there are people that go there in the summer. How about folks - does it weight heavily on you for the rest of the day?
And the all-importatn question - what do they serve there for dessert? :goodvibes

We enjoyed LTT for dinner before MNSSHP. It was rather yummy.
It is served family style on a platter just for your family to share and some fare for the kids. We really enjoyed it and asked for seconds on quite a few thing.
One thing I didn't like was the cherry cobbler dessert, because I don't like cherries.

My family enjoys LTT. The do have tables for 4 so you dont have to sit at a table with another family. We have always had the Apple crisp for dessert, never saw any cherry cobbler? Maybe that was the dessert before the apple crisp?
they also have ham and beef if you dont want turkey.

Struck you funny there did it??? :D
And yes we had cherry cobbler. We had LTT for 10/6 this year before MNSSHP and they served cherry cobbler for dessert. Only my dad and stepmom ate it as I don't like cherries and the boys were actually to full to eat any more.

I wonder if maybe they alternate. We ate there last Dec right before MNMCP and it was apple crisp and then the same this Oct, Oct 25, we ate there right before MNSSHP.
