Up early today to try and make MK at opening. Rushed hubby around and we flew out the door to catch the bus. We walked to the stop to see the MK bus pulling away. So, I ran back to the villa, grabbed the car keys and we drove around to the front of the resort and parked the car to catch the bus before it left the resort. (Not gonna tell you where in case I got somebody's parking spot). We just did make the bus, and had a really great bus driver who spouted trivia all the way to the MK. We got there about 8:55 and walked up just as the show started----hooray--had not seen this in a long time. It made me a little teary and I just loved it. Once they did the rope drop we headed to Fantasyland for Peter Pan (my favorite), then on the SnowWhite's Adventures, which we had not done in about 10 years) and enjoyed that. Then around to Buzz LightYear and Stitch and the Mickey's Philharmagic and then IASW and Haunted Mansion. We did all of this before 11:30 on a Saturday morning. We then decided we needed to beat the lunch crowd and headed to Pecos Bill's, then we went around so I could have my Dole Pineapple Whip--it was worh every last calorie. We then went thru some of the shops (a lot are closed for refurbishment) and then out of the train station.

Waited about 10 minutes for a bus, which has been the norm so far. So back to OKW to hit the pool for a little bit. And that brings us up to date. Tonight it is back to the MK for Wishes and Spectromagic. So, later tater. Will catch up with you after a while.

Glad to see all is going well with your trip. Live it up!:dancingba :dancingba

We've never seen the opening ceremony. Is this at all parks, or only at MK?

Also, in the other post, you mentioned a hidden mickey at Soarin'. Where is it? I'll have to look for this now.

Enjoy the rest of your trip. It only makes me more excited to go.:bluebloun

Soarin' Hidden Mickey ---- when you are gliding over the golf course, and the guy hits the golf ball right at you--there is a Mickey on the Golf Ball.

I know of Opening Ceremonies at AK, not sure about MGM, nothing special at EPCOT, but MK's is worth getting there on time. They use the Lilly Belle train, only time it is used during the day, and the characters kick off the day. You want to see it at least once.

MK is open until midnight tonight. We are off to find somehere to eat--no ressies--I should know better by now, then Spectro at 9:00 and Wishes at 10:00.Don't think we will make the last Spectro at 11:00.

oh, Rwe, I am so happy you got to enjoy the opening ceremony. I get so emotional during it, I just love it.

Sounds like ya'll are having a great time. I love the hidden Mickey at soarin also. It goes by so fast, so fun to try to catch it.

Tell everyone hello at the suitcase for me. Wishe we could have met up, for a dole whip or something. So funny, we always do Pecos Bills then dole whip. Maybe next trip we can meet up! :)

Have a great time!:woohoo:

After Disney dining could not find ANYTHING anywhere for a party of 2 until after 9:30, we decided to take our chances at MK with whatever didn't have a long line. I decided to ask at Tony's and they said we could have a table in about 15 minutes of we wanted to sit outside, we declined as it was just too warm to enjoy eating a meal. We went on down Main Street and stopped in at The Plaza. They seated us immediately, no wait at all. I was more than surprised as I had asked about both locations when I called Disney Dining less than an hour earlier. So, I am not sure what is going on with that. We had a good meal in air conditioning, so all ended up well with that. We then decided to stake out a spot for the parade, which didn't start for another hour. The place was packed, and I mean packed, kind of like July 4th packed, so we found a spot for Wishes and watched Spectro over the heads of everyone in front of us. Wishes was fabulous, as usual, always brings tears to my eyes. We waited for the crowds to clear and took our time heading for the bus. I would have loved to have stayed for the second Spectro, but the day was starting to take it's toll on both of us, so we headed for home

Tomorrow it's MGM and Star Wars Weekend.

Exactly what is the opening ceremony at MK? I've never seen it, but maybe it's something I will try to do on our trip there in October.
