:hyper: It's like DVC-- you'll never 'go back' to the value ISP's ever again!

Well I still have dial-up. My mom has high speed and it is fast. Although I am patient and cheap so I haven't converted yet.

Luckily I visit the same sites enough to keep them in my history so it doesn't take forever to load.

I'm on a 5 meg broadband connection at work. Dial-up here at home. Since I don't download music or video, dial-up is fine for what I do .... including the Boards.

Probalby though within the next year or so we'll be upgrading all our 'putors here at home to the "latest and greatest" so we'll probably go cable then.

Of course, I'm 46 and still don't have a cell phone, so MAYBE I'll make the switch.

We're on broadband now, but I do remember the days of the 2400 baud AOL/Prodigy dial-up :holymoly:

Congratulations! :bluebloun are you feeling the wind rushing through your hair with all that speed??

I still remember learning to use the internet on a black and white laptop, after midnight when everyone else had gone home (would make is faster to use the phone line, we were told!). We loaded a hotel website with a few photos, and it took so long to load, I remember reading the paper while waiting....

AH, the good old days! ;)

I wouldn't be able to stand being on a message board without DSL! Actually, I preferred the high speed cable we had at our other place to the DSL, but can't get cable here.

No DSL here. :( I should look into cable, but I think you get a better deal if you have both cable TV and internet. I will not go back to cable TV. Love my satellite.

FYI -Satellite internet involves like $500 set up fees adn $60 per month. Yikes!

Made the switch to DSL last month as well and wondering what took me so long! Sure does feel like you're living in modern times with those fast connections.

DD tipped the scales for us when all of a sudden school work needed to be done and we were sitting around staring at the screen wondering if it would ever connect.

Is a bit like DVC, now I'm ready to "add-on" with a new computer!. Yikes!
