Anybody have a car rental code of value?

I need a one day van or SUV rental (a 7 passenger something) in early June in Philly. Costco or BJs maybe? Any ideas?

Thanks

Go to http://www.mousesavers.com/national.html

I selected National for the link b/c I have used these codes before. I went home to Philadelphia in December and used the Amex Coe (3rd on the list). The rate was better than without one (especially since they had no more compacts and I got upgraded) but was still expensive b/c of the holidays (I went for 8 days at Christmas). I used the same code for a trip to San Franciso in October 2004 and got a compact for Wed-Sun for $125.

Mary has codes for other rental companies, and they are not just for use in FL or CA.

If you don't care which brand of rental car. . . I love Hotwire.com! Best deal I could find elsewhere with a reputable (Avis/Budget/Hertz/Enterprise, etc) rental agency this morning was $240 for our 5-day Myrtle Beach trip in mid-June. Through Hotwire.com I got an standard (Monte Carlo, probably) from Budget for $177--unlimited miles, all taxes and fees included.

According to their website, the three agencies they deal with are Budget, Avis and Hertz.

I searched Hotwire for 1 day, June 15-16 noon to noon, and the minivan price was $42.95 and SUV for $45.95. Same search on SideStep.com gave me Avis $78/none (no SUVs showed up for Avis on SideStep), Budget $89/$78, and Hertz $111/$106. :jawdroppi

On Hotwire, once you buy it--that's it. No refunds. So the choice becomes, do you need to be $35 worth of flexible?

ETA: These results were for renting/returning at PHL. Off-airport locations are often cheaper.

I used the National AMEX code on Saturday to book a mid-size (ie Pontiac G6 size) for our trip to DL in August. We are going 8/24-8/29 and I got the car for
$123. :sunny:
